Haven't built it from scratch, . . . but I am planning on mod'ing it loads so that it will work well. Prob w/ some kind of ecto-frame that has lift cylinders in all four corners. It def needs some guides and seals.
Guess it will be close to building it from scratch as all I'm starting w/ is a...
Mine's a softtop, but one thing that I did notice is that if the windshield is too far forward, or too far back, my windows wouldn't square up. I had to loosen the BIG wingnuts on both sides of it and move it back and forth till the windows were squared.
Haven't tried to move the windshield on...
I got it off epay  Didn't really have a choice, the contact that you gave me couldn't get me a pulley. I don't have any way to drill out the old one, or even get it off. I'm stuck up here w/o a shop. Now I hear that the pulley may not even have the right offset
The part # is 7197N...
****, my timing has been off lately. Just bought one last week, and it just arrived.
So . . . question, If I just bought an "advertised" Delco, why is it not marked as such? Came in a box marked World Power Systems / WPS.
Everything I've been able to find links them, is that who really makes...
This is what I just bought, "24-1509 PULLEY". And he wanted to know 1) what belt type 2) how many grooves, 3) the diameter 3.5
Don't have it here yet so I can tell you any more about it.
yes, that I can find and replace it from civi stock (great for those of us that spend loads of time in travel mod), it also gives much better access to the primary filter . . . and it weighs less :)
something I noticed w/ the 109 is that because of the narrow headlights it doesn't look like a big truck at night.
Not only are we going to make the turn signals into markers, but we are also going to add some clearance lights . . . just to show how big we really are ;)
That's what I'm doing right now. Have the bracket and now I'm waiting on the alt to arrive.
Got the alt off ebay, cost a bit more than the place he recommended, but they could get the pulley for me as well.
Don't really have a good way to drill the stock pulley out, . . . at least not where I am...
I'm on as well, trail rides, that's my style. Don't really make much of a mess so I don't do that cleaning up, but trail rides [thumbzup].
Now I just need to get myself back down from N. Nev :driver:
This is our "low tech" way of doing that.
The legs just rest on the lip, they fit nice between the holders/lift points/wheelwell. Then just hold it up, and back, w/ some tie-down straps.
When we take off the front, for the other side, we can walk through from the 109 all the way off the end...
About time. I've been waiting for this one.
Haven't forgotten about the trailer, I'll check back into it when I get back down there . . . still at the Black Rock.
Inside view
Ok, now that I've been living in it for a little while (didn't really use it till Elise did her solo trip back down to J-Tree . . . it was the bike maintainance/repair station until then) I've got it "mocked-up" for what will be some of it's build. Not what I first thought, . . ...
We've got 4,000 on the little Draggin', and prob 4,500 or more on the She Beast, in the last year.
They've been oil burners from the day we got them.
I've dumped some bad mixes into the tank in the early days of trying to get the filter system worked out  That resulted in clogged...
Thanks!
When you do, we'll be happy to take you out for some "adventuring".
I'll also be happy to help you w/ a route that's not just the Interstates from there to here.
Watching your build . . . we have three of those 146's waiting for me to start on them. They're going a slightly dif...
Three days later our camp on the Black Rock Desert looked like this,
As we watched the hoards advance,
We tightened up the camp.
After the event, and Elise's solo back to J-Tree, we were down to this,
Then this,
and finely this,
I'm now off the playa and parked at a friend's place...
The next day we parted company late morning, after checking out some maps together . . . telling what we knew of the roads behind, . . . places the other should stop.
We then headed farther north, we crossed the rez, and the "green" that is south of Fallon.
Eyeing auto shops as we rolled...
We pull 105's on every trip that is not just around base camp. Our main one is the fuel harvester, but now I'm pulling a 105 hardtop.
I'm adding water can mounts to the sides so that they are easier to see when strait. Elise is learning how to back trailers w/ a M109 / M105 combo . . . as if...
Don't know why, but we have that going on as well. Was going to post up at some point and ask . . . guess I don't need to now :)
This is the axle / wheel set-up on my M105A2 Hardtop.
All our other 105's look normal.
