The simplicity of the air assist would be nice, but the strength and offroad ability of the hydro would be better. I have the oppurtunity at the MOMENT to get a PSC kit for around 830ish, but I don't have 830ish dollars right now, well not for that. If this is still available in like a month...
I appreciate the input. I know that for 1500-2000 $ I could buy a PSC kit. Matter of a fact right now I can get the PSC get for around 830$. Half off almost. Thing is I don't want to spend more than a thousand dollars. I could, but don't want to. I think that is achievable being I have some...
Ok thanks. Like I said we run a stock 12 valve cummins pump to run our hydro winch and hydro assist and it does ok, but I don't know if it would be up to the task of running a much larger ram on a much larger truck. How does the 5 ton PS pump attach to the LDT motor?

Like I said that is good to hear. I don't have to have them in a huge rush but I need to fix that stuff before I take it on a 500 mile round trip for a weekend of offroad bashing...

I may have to make it up there. My truck is no where near show quality. It is a toy and I plan on treating it like one. It has already seen its fair share of offroad abuse.

I live in Stephenville. My best friend is from Killeen. I grew up around Copperas Cove. I was asst. manager of the O'Reillys in Belton for almost 2 years back in 06-07. But at the end of May ( May 23-25 to be exact) I am going to Alto, (Shiloh Ridge) to go 4 wheeling for Memorial day.
As for...
I sent an email and Mike answered me very promptly. Told me if I placed my order this weekend it would ship Monday. So I will definately be sending them some of my money! Gotta fix these annoying leaks. Next to tackle is that winch that leaks like a screen door on a submarine. And figure...
Rizzo the stock pump from what? I know you can use a single ended ram for simplicity and cheapness, but I don't like the fact that the ram goes quicker to one side than the other and the pressure it exerts on the extension part of the stroke is greater. I don't personally like that. Our hydro...
Yea that pump is like 170$. Plus making a bracket. And finding a pulley, plus figuring out how many revolutions compared to engine rpms to prevent over revving the pump. Versus a p-pump that will rev alot higher. I was just thinking about the bracket of a p-pump. You have to take the pulley on...
On the other hand a constant volume pump like this might be easier to mount. If I could find a pulley to fit it. That might be a little harder... Hmm...damn the brainstorming.
Yea, I knew it was alot better. I guess it wouldn't be much harder to mount a p style pump than it would be to mount a Chevrolet alternator. I could just mount it above the generator. I will have to look at pulley options. But I still think I could build the whole system for under a grand. The...
