I understand after reading this thread that it can be taken as "fixing". All the old "farm auctions" i grew up going to that was just "business as normal".
I personally love having military vehicles and will continue to bid on military vehicles in and around Springfield, MO. I want to fill...
I a partially at fault for this. I bid his auction up last week unintentionally because I was after the rig he wanted. If I had known he wanted it, I would have left it alone.
I have been to tons of auctions and when two guys are friends and are next to each other they don't bid one another...
I was alsob bidding on the one with no vin plate. It had a super clean engine with 07 written on the fuel filters. Looked like it had been taken care of. That one got away too!
If there was a way we could all just decide which ones we were going to bid on so this doesn't happen that would be...
I was speaking of the 7030. I ran that one up because I wanted it pretty badly. Those tires on it was a huge bonus. It will be a nice truck for sure.
"The one that got away"
I bid it up over and over. I wanted it bad but I guess you wanted it worse! I am in Springfield, MO and it was only a 2 1/2 hour drive from here. Oh well, there will be another one.
Congratulations on a nice win!
I have used both. The 36's do flat spot if they sit for longer than a day. When I was driving my truck daily I did not notice at all. I did purchase one brand new set of 36's and i could go 3-4 days before they would flat spot. I currently have about 60 of the 37" radials at my shop on 12...
I purchased a lot of 80 wheels and tires (12 bolt beadlocks) from the govliquidation auction. Some of the lugs and nuts will have to be torched off due to rust. Does anyone know where I can get replacement lugs and nuts? I work for an auto parts store and we don't have anything close in our...
I have seen the Deuces go anywhere from $800-$3500. Depends what options you want: winch, heater, hard top etc.
From what I have read I don't think there is any brand that is any better than the other. However, if you get a chance to look at them if you find one with the rockwell tag on the...
I agree. I played with my axles both ways and it seemed as if I did get tighter turning by flipping the knuckles from side to side and put the steering in the front.
I copied the numbers off of the dash plate and looked at the sticky thread regarding identification numbers.
From what I am figuring, mine is a 70 model lot 5?

Here are the pictures. Let me know what you guys thinK!
Pic of me at the gas station. Ford Ranger is on the tow dolly and we are half way home at this point.

Got it home and then decided to put the top on. It was folded up in the bed...
The seargant was awesome. All he did was ask to look at my EUC paperwork. After that, we hopped in the gator and he drove us straight back to the Duece. He explained how to start it and where the lights were. He lead us back to the gate and we drove off the property.
Couldn't have gone any...
300+ miles in a Deuce makes for an extrmemly long day. The seargant told me that the Deuce I purchased was from the base and was used by the maintenance dept. This thing started right up (with a jump) and sounds great. However...
1) While driving home every so often the motor would bog and...
