I bet he has one sweet mobile home! Even the tarps and tires on the roof are probably zebrastriped....
(I do know who Ted Nugent is, but why he's still around I can't figure out...)
I really appreciate it. I take literally hundreds of pictures to help my reassemble everything the way it came apart, and also to document my work for eventually putting together a folder to show people what I did, and for the next owner to see the quality of my work. I find it's kind of a...
No, that is an air-line manifold. There are about 10-15 air hoses that connect to that from the outside and the inside, and it is a way for almost all the cab's pneumaitc systems to have one single junction point. I bet I could swap out a cab in less then an hour start to finish because of...
ABSOLUTELY!!!
As most people that are interested in military vehicles already know - your truck may be the most impressive piece of equipment you have ever owned, but the actual population that are really interested in these things beyond "Gee whiz, that's a neat truck" is quite few and far...
Incidentally, because my sleep schedule has been complete out of whack lately, and because I normally work nights from 10pm to 6-7am, I felt that tonight was one of those nights where it was more important for me to work on my truck then to go to work....
I started out in the garage at about...
I don't think I'll be painting the fasteners on the interior. They are all stainless steel, and I think I will just leave them alone. I realize (much to the displeasure of you purists out there) that my interior is not going to look 100% stock MV, so I am focussing on making the interior...
Here's a couple more pics. I have been working hard on getting the steering gearbox/column in place, and located and installed the intercom/mp3 system next to the light switch.
I'm going to start on the roof hatch and interior insulation as soon as it arrives.
Greetings, Ted! I spoke to you almost a year ago when I bought this truck. Good to see you here. From the amount of buzz about hemtt's I've been hearing lately I think there will be more and more joining the ranks in the future.
Well, most of the bits and pieces inside it went to a good cause, but the cab itself is my original cab from the truck. The LVS cab has an entirely different mounting structure underneath and interior shape, so I wasn't able to use it for the cab. The doors and many smaller parts are, and...
This is a system I can use in addition to headlights while driving under regular circumstances. It will see out 3-4 times farther then the headlights will illuminate.
I rigged up a magnetic test-mount that allowed me to mount the camera assembly on the roof of my pickup when I went to Colorado...
Re: RE: Studs and nuts
$20 each!!!   aua
Let's see.... If I needed 16 for a hemtt wheel that's $320, plus $15 for the o-ring, and $21 for the valve stem.... That's $356 per wheel...
9 wheels - $3204.... That's for nuts and studs... Not even the wheels...
I searched fruitlessly for some time to find the correct 3/4" stiuds for my hemtt wheels... It's not easy...
I ended up ordering a bag of 32 of them for $4 each.... Yup. $4 each from Oshkosh.
I took an example to both the major fastener companies in the area, and also to a major truck...
This is totally off-topic, but Hattiesburg is the site of the only nuclear weapons test east of Colorado.... They lit 2 off in a salt dome south of Hattiesburg to see how the seismic data appeared so we could detect other countries testing underground.
The site is completely unsecured land...
