M1028A1
SS not to many goodies, but the aircompressor, portable work lamps, and a nice set of strobes with controller. Mostly they left grease..... lots of grease all over the inside of the body!!!
Hopfully this summer it will get cleaned up and some green paint.
Yes it is the "older" body. It appears as the M887's left service some of the bodys were reconditioned and installed on the M1028A1's about the time some of them were being refitted as M1028A2's. The good news is the upgraded transfer case was installed (pto capable) but not used to power the...
OK it looks like The Maine event may be possible, There appears to be enough general interest. SS I'll be PMing you. At this point Im thinking a type one event with maybe a dash of type two. For those who dont have an MV or its not practical to drive one this far, Its ok to come in your car...
I have to admit I spent alot of money on my deuce, But it had alot of the options I wanted already installed, and Ive spent more time driveing and less time wrenching.... But it is an old truck and enjoy working on it to, just not every day I want to use it!!!!
There has always been a debate on the licencing requirements. Myself, I hate to see Morse code go, but technology has changed and so has the world. Hope some of you take the time to get a licence and enjoy the hobby. There are usually people arround to help with things like antenna matching and...
CDL is NOT required in Maine. Remember to state the breaks are "air assist" not regular air breaks. Also the fact that it is a wheeler (meaning 3 axles and 10 wheels) may make them assume that its registration is over 26,000 lbs which it should be 24,500 at most. If you attach a trailer to it...
Yes... Correction of the correction... The previous correction was refering to the doors only. then it left the doors it was further reduced in size and added to the bumpers and tailgates. However between 1975 and 1980 (or so) There was a mix and match of marking arrangements (all black) untill...
My understanding of the markings is the white was only used on the origional semigloss WWII to early Vietnam era. in approx. 1975 when Camo and CARC Camo paint started comeing into the picture The vehicle numbers where painted inside the cab ( usually on the inner passenger door ) and exterior...
Schotts is a good place BUT....... It is not his primary buisness, and he doesen't like tire kickers. If you have money and are serious, he will work with you. He doesn't sell parts, he uses them for repairs or to fix the sale trucks.
Im between Bangor and Newport. If you go again let me know, Id like to get a look in there. Also the guy acrossed the street from Schotts might sell some parts. The building is FULL of parts trucks 2.5 and 5 ton. Most are older than what you might be looking for but many parts are interchangeable.
