    Looking for USAF truck pics

Looking for pics of older USAF trucks with the Strata Blue paint scheme. Mostly interested in the M35's but other older trucks are fine. Once my current one is finished Im thinking about restoring an Air Force M35 If I can get one. Dont need pics of "current issue" vehicles.

    Deuce on 12.5R20s

Those look a little bulged past the rims. Bet they handle poorly on the narrower rims. But the worst problem is the duels are to close. I bet they chafe, good way to cause a blowout!! Other than that, they do look good. Maybe better if used as super singles!!

    Electrical - SAFETY!

an electrical world saying...... Its volts that jolts and Mills that Kills. Voltage makes your arm jump but it only takes milliamps to kill you.

    Electrical - SAFETY!

The batterys in a deuce are as powerfull as a good arc welder. Dont under estimate them. I made an emergency patch job with a pair of jumper cables, an "air-arc" carbon rod and some filler metal once. Kids.... DON'T try this at home unless you fully understand how it works!!!!! Its not...

    pressurewasher sandblaster attachment

I saw one of these at a welding supply store. looks like a great way to keep the dust down. Might also be a good way to deal with CARC paint. The salesman said not to skimp with a cheap pressure washer, But still Id like to hear how well they work before getting one.

    Flat spots on deuce tires

In the fire service some of the trucks we had were bias and some were radial. The bias tires were really bad doing this untill they "limber up" some of our trucks had been sitting awhile on cement floors, Kind of bumpy but they come out of it. We had one truck with nylon bias tires, they were...

    deuce road trip preparation

I will be carrying my towbar. Much cheeper to find a vehicle with a pintle hitch than pay big $$$ for the big tow truck!!!! But really a good list would be common with the "Picking up your deuce" list. Have basic fluids handy, DOT 5 Brake fluid, GL 1 or Equiv Gear oil, Antifreese, WD-40, a...

What makes a deuce a deuce?

I have been aproched by several veterns that wanted to sit in the drivers seat "just once" They had ridden many miles on the troop seats on missions but never in the cab. Some of the storys they tell come from deep within, and may never be told again. I really enjoy the parades getting waves and...

A winch is a winch is a winch ... or is it??

On more than 1 occasion Ive made the deuce slide on level ground with my foot on the breaks dragging all 10 tires! 2 parts of line should have no problem getting you on the upper level of that parking garage without useing the gate! Lower yourself down later and no parking fees!!!!!
  19. Towerguy1

A winch is a winch is a winch ... or is it??

I think you will find its enough. If you need more you an always 2 part the line. make shure you use a good load rated snatchblock.

A winch is a winch is a winch ... or is it??

All winches have positives and negitives. The duece winch can be operated by 1 person, just requires a little more effort. (done it several times) PTO winches dont overheat like electric ones. And electric ones dont like fording operations very well. Hydrolic is typicaly the slickest but...
