Not to spoil my own selfish needs (as I would like to buy the TOW stuff you did get). But they did mount these on M151A1s, also The TOW system was out in the late 60s. One of the more "published" pictures is of a USMC M151A1 from a left rear 3/4 view in the middle of firing.
From looking at...
If you do have other M151 Series Info That is Great also. It all makes the picture clearer. So many obviously had the data plates removes so the only way to figure things out are from hood numbers if still there and or body numbers.
Still needing information. The Guru (aka Ken) and I have all the Ford built A2s into a data base but MANY of the entries do not have body numbers. If you have given info before but did not give a body number please take the time to do so. When we put Kens larger list with mine we still only come...
Hey guys,
Putting together some comprehensive info together on the Early M151A2s made by Ford (body by Budd). Obviously whatever info you can give is better than what we have (Ken aka Mutt Guru & I).
The list would be as follows:
Nice overall picture - Looking to see front Fender difference...

Unless you all ready have the adapters stick with the originals.... Adapters are VERY unavailable and when they do come up are VERY pricey. Usually negating any cost saving you would have seen.
Jack Martin in Tucon is good to go but you will do lots of looking.
Sad to say but Jack Tomlins in Utah is a no go. Jack passed away last month.
He was one of the long time guys buying this stuff when almost no one wanted it. He had been fighting cancer for MANY years. No one as of yet...
Yes, my 2 cents on the price for the bike and a "new" one costing less. Obviously I have been on my soap box about "these bikes should be cheep... so why are they going for $$$$" Waaaa Waaa (sorry if I offend). The people buying these bikes or anything like them and paying more$ than a civilian...
Trying to get an idea when some things changed on the M151A2s
When was the Emmision control stuff added.
When was the ROPS installation program started.
When was or??? the 25 amp generator changed to 60 amp alternator. I assume all A2s had alternators but...
Is it hard or are any special...
Not that I am an expert by any means but here is the info I have discerned from my restoration of my USMC M151A2 FAV/ Supper Jeeps.
The 3 set pictures By B3.3T are of a M151A2 at the MVPA convention in Portland OR two years ago. I have not seen another one set up like this before or since...
OK multiple clarification questions....
The transmissions Allison & Cat.
Which is better and or why... Faster, gearing, ??? I got that the service issue on the Cat maybe of concern but put that aside.
I am looking for road speed more than the 6x6 or 6x4 availability. Although as said...
Yes this was my question... the front on the M915 & M915A1 is very low compared to the "off road trucks" M916 & up. So maybe width could be a problem, not so much height. At least according to your tire chart.
OK... I opened the box so here goes....
My planed use for the truck would be to lenghten the frame to 20 to 25' behind the cab. Install a custom made RV body (have a friend that does this) and use it to tow a "light" flat bed (via pintel hitch) with my toys on it, Quads, Sand rail etc... also to...
OK I have been wanting to go down this path M915 M916 for years now.... But no trucks. Now they are comming out. I did not know there were two transmissions? OK now that a few of you have play time and actual military time behind these boys, whats the best one for over the road speed and pulling...
