Installed a HMMWV self cancelling turn signal switch and fabricated a cancelling ring adapter collar for my M35A3 type steering wheel.
Here's the mod thread...http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?133478-Self-Cancelling-Turn-Signal-Modification
A couple of weeks back I installed a HMMWV self-cancelling turn signal switch (Kit # AM General 57K3222). However, the cancelling ring would not properly mount to the conical base of the M35A3 type steering wheel on my truck. So, the self cancelling feature would not work.
This past couple of...
Being sick and tired of throwing my chocks in the bed and no room anywhere else, I installed a storage bracket on my left fuel tank protector. And, yes, I checked for clearance during axle articulation. I just put the 4-ton on it and lifted it the stop [thumbzup]. The chocks and the bracket are...
Lollipop lights Kit P/N 12301147. They come up on eBay now and then.
Thanks. The side lights are standard equipment on M939-series 5-tons. I fabbed up the brackets for my truck and installed amber LED markers.
Do you have power loss? Sucking air into the supply line will cause this and this does not sound like this is your issue.
Check your return line. I understand from a Cummins guru that RPM's will hang if there is blockage/restriction in the return line hence not allowing excess fuel to flow...
When I first bought my truck, I had removed the left fuel tank and installed an under-bed tool box. I later decided to re-install a left fuel tank so the tool box became surplus and I was once again lacking storage space. Well, with the new drop-side bed installed, I finally decided to put the...
Lollipops, LED side marker, ID, turn signal/running, and tail lights, conspic tape (front, back and on the inside of the doors), reflective signs. I've changed the bed since these pics, but the rear set up is pretty much the same.
Last week, with installation of my new drop side bed last month, I repainted the inside of the bed with the help of my son. We just rattle canned the corners and rolled the rest...no fuss and little mess. I decided not to apply bed liner coating as paint is easier to fix up if you get rust...
There's an M936 wrecker (A1, A2??) at the HIARNG Kihei Armory on the Mokulele Hwy on Maui. I was just there last week and drove by it a few times. It looks like it is great shape, but it's a couple hundred yards from the highway. Question is how much longer are they going to keep it as all the...
On my M818...Top angle iron is original to the bed and the bottom was welded on during bed installation. Bolts and springs installed per the TM. Bolts are grade 8 and 5/8" x 10" long. Spec called for 9 1/2", but I couldn't find that length...no biggee. The springs are also spec'd out and found...
Glad you got it all wrapped up and all is right in the universe. That job is no walk in the park ;)
Somebody really fouled that job up before you. After doing the job myself, I can't help, but not understand how one puts the clutch disc in 'bass-ackwards'. You should be able to see the error...
I installed my newly modified licence plate bracket. I used the existing plate holder cutting off the extension material that used to bolt up to old taillight bracket (original orientation in first pic). I changed to a vertical format in order to bolt it to the back side of the drop side bed...
I'd say it it's a great price.
In case you do decide to get it, here are the frame extensions and top and bottom L-brackets you need to mount the winch to the truck. I've included the part numbers if you need them. I've seen these turn on eBay from time to time.
Also remember, you'll also...
The long portion of the hub of the clutch disc does face the transmission. 25-31 lb-ft. on those pressure plate bolts per the TM.
I replaced the clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot and throw-out bearing and had the fly wheel machined on my M818 when I replaced the rear main seal about two years...
I am running the standard flasher unit...http://www.eriksmilitarysurplus.com/tusiflcoun11.html...with LEDs all the way around and incandescent lollipops. All works fine. All new flasher units are LED compatible. I agree with the grounds issue...clean 'em up good and use star lock washers on all.
I obtained mine with the assistance of local SS Cummins guru WillWagner. Send him a PM and see what he can do for you. And, I don't remember paying that^^ much for it.
