I just wonder if those kits will come from the Military excess surplus and all the HMMWV's that are out there seating and waiting something to happen?
That may be one way GM can dump those parts and still out of liability, instead releasing not DOT...
Go with a Tundra, I love mine, got new in 2008 and only thing I had to put on was change oil, set of new tires and gas.
I had GMC's for 30 years or so, my last Chevy 1500K (Made in Canada) got brand new and was a disaster to maintain.
My Tundra Crew Max (Made in U.S.) have a 5.7 , 380 HP...
That was my first idea....now R&R every unit that I have on my HMMWV to check will be time consuming. The ones mounted on my HMMWV they do have as I did air out and the wheels seats a few inches like if it was just with very low on air.
My second idea would be simply to measure the weight...
Search come up empty handed.....
Got a few HMMWV mounted wheels/tires here, how one can be sure that a run flat is mounted inside or not without disassemble anything:?:

Got a 1987 USMC M998 (originally from the GA Auction) previous owner is a hobo man, he did nothing to it all those years, the auction numbers still in the side windows!! I felt like one of the guys from American Pickers TV Show when I went pick it up.
The standard is actually a two piece (front, void, back) sandwich glass and seems like to be reversible for RH or LH sides , ....I did not find any NSN for parts on the site listed manuals, thanks!
Hello Joel, thanks for replying about the trailer, my trailer is a 18'~20' by 82", problem is... it is not just a flat bed, it does have a reinforcement steel frame (fence) on its sides from the fender going forward section.....I would need seat the front tires over the reinforcement siding and...
Thanks for the link HummerGuy, I am sure I will have many questions once I get it in.
BTW, I just found out that I cannot use my car carrier trailer as the width distance between trailer fenders is 82" and manual says that the HMMWV overall width is 85" (seller measured 87"?)...and I take...
I was looking for one for some time, a running and stock HMMWV can run from $25K to $35K plus, depends in the model...at least is what you will find online if you search and look for one.
It cost me $16,700, with two armored extra front doors and fording kit uninstalled, 18,000 miles, all...
Thanks Jwaller, I found their web site in a search, once I get this 87 Humvee on my place I will call them and try to see what I have and what I will need, I was told they are very pricey but very helpful, can't wait to get it in....the seller does not know much about it what is odd as he said...
Hello Guys,
I just purchased a 87 HMMWV from eBay, seller told me that the last time he had it working was year ago, he also states that it needs the control box in order to turn it on.
I have searched this site about the control box, found one post with a site link to purchase it but link...
I friend mine want to trade his Unimog with my 92 Komatsu Dozer (worth $14K~$15K) that I am not using at all.
His Unimog is a 1962 Swiss Military (gas) all original and working (need new tires), also he said that has many spare parts for it. It is titled in TN now but it still in FL (he's...
