I hope that the info is current. He hangs out on Maple Leaf Up...
I am NOT going! But, will assist any vehicles that will be heading through Vancouver B.C.,
that might need a staging / way point.
I will try to work with our clubs and municipalities to do what I can.
If you need local info, just PM me.
Our Legion is ready to throw on a burger bash for...
Apple Cider Vinegar is your best friend. It's cheap and is VERY effective.
Try it! You just might be amazed. I have used much more agressive acids to remove rust and crap, but with a little time in a warm soak... less metal is removed, and more junk just goes away!
We had our paint custom mixed. If you need, I can try to get the code for you. You have a really fun truck, which was greatly ahead of it's time. Download all of the TM's and keep posting pics. I don't know an awfull lot, but I'll try to respond to your questions. If you need reference pictures...
If you can't see it in your mirrors, put some "Chicken Strips" on it. These would be bright colored chunks of pvc pipe, mounted on an angle, so you have a reference as to where your tag-a-long is.
My fleet uses the orange markers that are normally attatched to snowplows... Meyer..... Works...
Looks good. Just like in the Military, sometimes you have to use what you've got... or can get. don't worry about the nit-nat, get the job done! Keep your firefighters safe, and try to keep saving more than the foundations of ex-houses!
Carry on!
I was glad to play tour guide. Come on back soon.
As for your fluid escapement problems, I told you earlier,

It is an M215. The M135 was the troop carrier variant with the longer and lower bed... and factory super singles.
Look at my avitar!
Tranny AND engine fluid is 30 wt NON-Detergent motor oil.
The engine was a 302 which put out ( on a great day) 190 HP.
Download the TMs, that truck is...
That is a really good starting point for a truck. It will take some work, but that could easily be as nice as SuperDave's M135. I'm glad it went to a good home.
Why does this sound like the grumpy old Crown Royal bandit, who we have come to know. I really wish that I was closer to you lot, so I could shake a few hands, drool about your toys, and loose the cap off of a Big bottle of CR, while spapping stories!
I'm so glad that you have the PESOs and Patience to rebuild this rare beast. There were so few made, and even fewer remaining....
Good Job. Keep the pics coming!
Refer back to Wrecked Man's comments. (sorry wreckerman). What he said is the gospel truth. You can cage brakes, but then you have absolutely no stopping power. Chocks and double winches with a hold back line are required. Other more qualified people will comment, but.... Read the TM's and get...
Oh, Yeah, I do have to thank the stupid buggers who got stuffed in to the thankless job of moderating our mindless drivel, and trying to keep things civil. The unwilling volunteers were chosen well, and at least I appreciate it!
