Wheel offset is 1.5" difference. Then download the TM and look at the part numbers and drawings. The hubs and drums are the same. I had them in my hand a couple years ago. There is a different spacer ring between the drum and hub as well if I remember correctly.
It is called "back, rear brake...
Nice Can!
The cab side... Should take a 1/2 socket and a wrench to hold the nuts on the other side. Knock it up with a big rubber hammer. I do not remember any welds or anything holding it in. I believe the TM shows a pic of the removal.
Yes it can be done I have flipped the center section to use a different T case. You have to grind the housing a little bit for clearance. You will see where when you pull the center section. Then you cut 0.75" off one end of the axle shaft. I cannot remember which one. Many have been placed in...
Hey! Very Nice job posting worthwhile pictures and a good quantity of them. Imagine all the "how'd they..." questions if you didn't.
You Sir, are a good man.
It is alarming how heavy the springs, tires and wheels are. The axle weight is unbelievable!
The body is not bad, neither is the frame without the landing gear. Here is my suggestion.

You should be able to...
The goal being that trip, I would place the body on a modern, reliable chassis with reasonable gearing.
The old GM deuce axles are very low geared, leaky knuckle, drum brake antiques. As far as strength goes, we have put them in pulling trucks and I too have seen them in mud boggers with some...
Today I replaced the screen on the last 4 frames. I used charcoal color aluminum screen and 0.140 diameter black spline. I tried the fiberglass but I could not get it tight. There were waves in the screens. The aluminum was much more forgiving. It stayed in the groove without the spline when...
I'm glad it runs. I sent you the best 3 plug wires, one of each length. I would have sent all 6 but I have a cold misfire on old red right now.
Didn't someone tell me they would not restore another truck? I'm sure it will be 100% perfection when it is done!
Got a few days off. Painted the frames. They have been drying for a week so they should be solid enough to run mew steel screen back in. I did the other 2 this summer and it went well. I sanded and repainted all the lights as well. I have 9 watt/60w led bulbs for the 6 110v lights. I will get...
Vent line does 2 things.
1. venting is required because fluid leaves when the peddle is depressed and atmospheric air comes in the vent to replace the fluid that goes out the other end. Most newer vehicles have a rubber diaphragm under the master cyl cover that does not allow air in. Some older...
After years of struggling with fuel related problems I decided it is time to solve the problem. I can't count how many times the tank has been cleaned and fuel pumps rebuilt, replaced and repaired, filters replaced, leaks fixed, and carb cleaned. I ordered a shiny new aluminum 15 gallon fuel...
Back up! Unbolt the 2 channels from underneath when you get them up on the 2x12s and then cut. That is where I went wrong. The rear one needs to be longer. See pic 1. I suppose you could just remove the rear. I would butt weld it to the front one. It would look better.
I stood a couple 2x12s on edge on the garage floor and slid the first cab on it. Measured it up so the center post would be exactly the same with as the front post, cut the back off the front cab with a sawzall. Then unbolted the dash from the rear cab and cut across the floor. Only screw up was...
