I will be going to Ft McCoy for several trailers next week. One trip for sure, maybe two. If anyone needs anything previewed or picked up let me know. Possible days would be Wed, Thur and Fri.
I have driven a few POS trucks, but I would never attempt to go very far with the dog bone off like that. Recovry has it right, get it fixed and weld a bolt or piece of flat stock on the back of the pin. Many guys have done that with a lot of success. Just to risky to have that axle move out...
I have a 24 volt battery tender that works great. Last winter when I didn't use it the batteries would go dead in a couple days. I'd plug the tender in and in a few hours the truck would start like it had new batteries in it. What's nice is how it will not over charge and cause the batteries...
Personally I think he was being a big help. If you really want help from a person that knows these trucks, I think a guy that has a fix named after him would be the guy to trust and make nice with. Might I point you to the search function and have you enter in "doghead relay mod". But I think...
I think we need to ban him for doing this. He is worse than that girl friend I had in high school, gets you all worked up and then nothing. Gather the pitchforks and lets BAN him. Again.
If it's a large truck and runs I will drive it, a trailer I can tow it. I have been doing some pick ups for members out of McCoy as of late and have one going to NY in the next few weeks.
You should be able to see or drive one at any Ford dealer. I don't know what these other guys have done to their Fords, but I beat the snot out of both of mine and they just keep going for me.
These trucks were forked onto trailers before they were even brought to the DRMO. So it's not Mike and Seth and their use of a fork lift you have to worry about, it's who did it before them.
Well the A3 left for Grand Rapids today. It was a good running truck, no death wobble to this one. I wish Hooper the best of luck in his travels and may he enjoy his truck. Hope to be back to McCoy next week or the week after for a couple trailers. Let me know what you need looked at or...
Buyer beware. Actually be afraid, very afraid. I don't want to rain on your recovery, but that would bother me. No one I know would drop the price that far, unless they knew it was in really bad shape.
No matter what you decide I wish you the best of luck. Start making friends along your...
Made it back with an A2 and an A3 today. The A3 did surprisingly well. All we needed for the A3 was a piece of all thread to replace the upright mirror bar on tha pass side. If only all the fixes were so easy.
The A2 has a bad master cylinder and is leaking pretty good out of the front, but...
