Does'nt the Hotchkiss jeeps have vacuum wipers and guards (hood standoffs) around
the vacuum motors? Course you don't see any wipers (manual or vacuum) on this jeep.
I think the NY-Penn MVCC (MVPA) Club has a rally of some sorts in April in
Hancock New York. Lots of surplus for sale as well as other rally events.
It's advertised in Military Vehicles/Supply Line.
I know they've decided not to have thier Memorial Day event in Cobleskill
NY this year due to...
Should be one of the levers to the right of the shifter. One engages the 4X4
and the other is 4H/Nuetral/Lo range. Unless your looking at one without the front axle, (CCW), those levers should be there.
Yes, I would trailer it. If needed, either rent/borrow a utility type trailer,
get some strap tie-downs from Wal-Mart/Sams Club as someone says, buy a trailer for a garden tractor (5X8) new or used.
Daryl Bennsinger can tell you about wheels falling off ------
Make an adventure out of it.
The orange dozer would be capable of opening the road back up with the JD following on the CCKW bed that would also hold the fuel supply. Just gotta keep that "cop" away when you do the move !!!
Perhaps it has something to do with the postings about GL wanting someone(s) that can handle 100 or more trucks at a time at a central location. Has anymore been said about these "mass" auctions??
But you don't understand. He "added" the winch to it. So it was a winchless model before and now it has a winch on it. That alone makes it worth the big bucks.
They showed the prototype on the news last night. I can tell you it's not going to be a "light tacticle" vehicle. (Such as the M151A1/2 was). The front looks like an varient of the Oshkosh trucks and from the windshield back it looks like a square Hummer.
Course the actual vehicle may be different.
Interesting that your Tipper is winchless. Most tippers had winches since they're Engineer trucks. I did see some that were closed cabs without winches though.
Ooops --- double posting --- wonder if moderators can delete this one ??

Our paper this AM says that the Pentagon is supposed to vote soon on the vehicle to replace the HUMVEE. It's supposed to be a lightweight vehicle that will do all and protect the occupants from mine blasts. It will be quite awhile before it's fielded.
Or it was the way the unit prepped it for turn-in.
You know how it is. One Sgt says to do it this way and another says no- this is the way and then yet another comes along and says --
