Somebody posted that the prices are going up because more people are getting into the hobby. However how many can use a duece? How many can even have a duece due to zoning restrictions? How many can afford to drive a duece?
These trucks will be around for years to come. I'm sure overseas...
If you are'nt already, we need to get this gentleman into the NY-Penn Military Vehicle Collectors Club !! HQ is located in the Binghamton area. Visit our website for the membership application.
Just think of the thousands of jeeps of all models that have been sold by surplus dealers especially in Europe!! Maybe thats why they're so plentiful in England.
Kinda looks like the one sold out of upsate New York ;)
Did'nt realize how big they actually are untill you see it on a trailer!!
I hope they took some dollars of the sale price because the pintle is missing!! ;)
The old Willys P/U's had a problem w/the frame rusting out behind the cab so if you want to update it to something modern "go-4-it". Course as w/all old jeeps, they're painfully slow for todays highways so thats another reason to approve the mod.
I'm planning on bringing my lunch if they're going to feature those $3.00
pencil hotdogs again.
It would be great if they were to use those Gators to sell drinks out in the "north 40"!!
Take it to a local rebuild shop. Just check your phone book. Many auto parts stores have connections to or have thier own rebuild shops. Just pull the engine and take it to them, they rebuild it, you re-install it and enjoy.
You may want to look into feedback on the shop. Some are better then...
Only "problem" with those FEMA trailers is the formaldahyde problem. Those deemed contaminated are supposed to be turned into scrap. Some have already turned up in mobile home parks against the sale rules.
I have several more vehicles then I need or will ever get to enjoy --
but they're -- 'mine'.
Yes, 'someday' I'll get to them but in the meantime, they're 'mine'.
(Due to the "No Auctions" posting rule I could'nt post this untill after the auction).
Someone bought a HEMITT at a town surplus auction for $15,700.
Hard to understand the description but it sounded like the engine had been removed and put into another vehicle of some sort but was included in...
Still have to remeber, there will always be a strong demand for the Bazer/P/U type vehicles, only a certain amount of people/companies would want a duece or larger so I think they will be in good supply for years to come here.
