Wilton had the contract for all the 5 ton, 800 series, vises, but as they broke or wore out they were replaced with what ever was available.
Here's a website for the original.
WMH TOOL GROUP - HOME
Look for the C-2 #10250, then look at the price. (Sit down first),also parts are available..
I've tried for several months to upload it to the Resources section here on SS but It never works. I've e-maild several times but nothing. It's a great manual, gives Depot rebuild for just about everything 5 ton.
Here's a picture of how the Army wanted to do the trans drop. This is the winch designed for the job. My friend is in the process of doing the job with my winch. We'll keep ya all posted. It fits and works like a charm. Also, a picture that is in the manual TM9 2320-211-35.
Make sure someone hasn't raised the clutch control on the deck in front of the rear winch.. This would pressurize the roto chamber and hold the clutch pedal down or disengaged.
Here's a pic of what your dealing with. Heat it and whack it and maybe the grease that should be in there will come loose. If not get some Kroil and soak it. Mine were stuck but not rusted, some Soldier B tightened them with a 10 foot breaker I think.
They are really great and patriotic people. Typical farmers that love Uncle Sam. If you visit ask to speak to Terry, his patriotism will blow your mind.
If you turn the factory winch around putting the crank point towards the rear of the cab , like the manual shows, instead of under the dash, the little factory winch works great.
Great job Phil,
That truck is big but doesn't weigh that much. Those will keep it in place when you winch my wrecker out of a mud hole.
The Army should have thought of that one.
Now, if you can just come up with a way to get my boom jacks apart..............
I don't really think the MVPA has the time to bothered with their members problems. They are to busy fighting umongst themselves to help us.
It's just the begining guys.
