Those look awesome! I see myself buying some very soon.
Did you use the universal size or did one of the ones they had made for a jeep fit? I like the idea of the back seat but I don't know how it would look folded up.
Yeah I read through that one twice before starting this one. Unfortunatley it does not seem to cover even the first two issues I'm having. The only thing I really was able to get off that one was that the kit will fit a truck with an arctic heater kit and having an AC shop do the instal would be...
First off let me state that I have never ever worked on a vehicle's AC system. I know very little about them. However one of the things I vowed to do with all these old trucks is learn how to work on all aspects of a vehicle. So today as a Christmas present to myself I went and picked up my...
I agree about AAMCO. I had a transmission rebuilt by them (I was 16 and didn't know any better) and it blew up literally two weeks later. When it came back to their shop they said they didn't want to warranty it! They pulled some old dried up mud from under my truck and said that I was...
It sleeted down here and filled up some mud holes out at the ranch so I figured I would go test the 4x4. Plus I installed new Monroe shocks and wanted to try those out off road too. The 4x4 worked great and the truck never even thought about getting stuck. The road headed out was flooded and...
Here is a video that goes over changing them. It taught me how to do it.
YouTube - Replacing a Rear Axle U Joint : Preparing & Installing a U Joint onto a Drive Shaft
Also most driveline shops can change them out for pretty dang cheap. My local one will change them out for as cheap as the...
I called ASA electronics again and the tech support guy said it should be working just fine with 14.5 volts. He actually said this was normal for an electrical source on a car to put out that much. Anyway I'm waiting on a RMA number and I am returning it soon to get fixed.
Ok I switched it to the next spot up and it was still getting the same results. Right at 10.5 volts with the engine off at the wire going into the stereo. When I turned on the engine it was still getting around 10.5 at first. As soon as the truck warmed up just a little bit and the voltage...
I"m saving up for a 1-1/2" or 2" lift kit for my M1009 but could use shocks now. If I buy some for my truck and tell them it's got the lift will they fit? Are they the stock sive shocks or just a little longer?
I plan on getting new rear springs and fronts so I probably won't be going with...
I took the measurement at the wire coming into the radio. Currently I am taped into the fuse block. On the left side of the block, second open spot from the top.
Ok I was able to get out there but it was really dark by the time I was able to make it outside and test it.
With the ignition key in the on position I get 10.5 volts on my multi meter. When I turn the motor on I get 14 volts. Does this sound right? I'm fairly new to car electronics and...
After being bounced around to three or four different people I finally got bounced to ASA Electronics who apparently actually makes this stereo. They said the only thing they can think of is a possible voltage drop once the engine starts could cause this. I'm going to pull out the multi-meter...
It's a Jensen MSR2007 which is actually a marine stereo.
Here is a link to one for sale: Amazon.com: JENSEN MSR2007 AM/FM SIRIUSREADY STEREO: Sports & Outdoors
I didn't pay that much though.
Ok everything is in but I'm having a VERY annoying problem. When I get in the truck and turn the key to ignition on position, as if you were cycling the glow plugs, the stereo controls work just as they should. One light push of a button will result in whatever function is supposed to happen...
Come on now you know none of these trucks really builds up enough speed to make one of those deploy! At the scene of the accident people would say something like "This big green truck just didn't stop and then a bunch of bed sheet looking stuff with string attached came out the back and just...
Also if anyone knows where we can get a schematic for the card that would be worth ten times it's weight in gold. The main cost I am looking at is the R&D to tear this thing apart and figure it out. My source said if he had a schematic he could start cranking these things out for next to nothing.
Wouldn't that 22 ft camper trailer far exceed the tow capacity of an M1009? Plus with anything over 15-16 ft I would be worried about drivability because of the M1009's short wheel base.
Maybe some pictures would help and more explanation would help. I was having problems with the glass going up. Every time I would try and crank the handle one full rotation it would slip like it had a broken gear. So I took the regulator out and as I was turning the little rectangular bar...
Ok I have searched high and low throught the TMs and the threads and I can't find anything about setting up the rear window regulator. I have it out of my truck and I guess when the guys at the glass place were in my tailgate they messed it up. So I'm trying to get the two gears to meet up in...
