The tranny adjustment procedures are in the TM.
Make sure that you only use 30 WT NON-detergent oil in it.
Detergents will rot your seals.
Other fluids may be superior, but unless you want a mobile oil slick.....
Like M109guy said,
If it aint broke, don't fix it!
The 302 is a good engine. The weak point was the tranny.
When it ran fine, evertything was good. The inability to select your gear was a major PITA!. Years of experience, tought you how to get around the system, and operate the beast...
Way to go Ian, you have me waiting for the next episode...
just like a Rottwieller waiting for a fresh Postman's leg.
Thanks for sending the spare parts to someone who needs them.
I really hope that you got a few of the green truck people there for the final show.
We can use all of the good...
Here is the link for the manuals. I got to say that a Deuce dumper with winch has got a cool factor that no Ram could ever have, except for maybe an old Power Wagon!
Robr sent me one of those gizmos. I am installing it right now. What a brilliant device!
If I would have had one earlier, I probably would not have cratered an old and abused charging system. Many $$$ later, the truck is restored and running!
Tennmogger has the coolest way to do it. Great pics.
Now that you are going to do it, I am so waiting to see your video.
If you don't have a backhoe, you got some work to do with a mattock.
This is not an impossible job, just be safe, and don't hurt yourself or your truck.
Getting your CDL is a bonus! While it is not always required, the things that you learn are highly recommended!
It's your skin, knowledge may help to keep it intact!
I don't know about the USA models, but the CF M-135-C and MLVW as far as I know were all canvas. Here is a 135 from CFB Petawawa. Our truck spent part of it's life doing this at CFB Chilliwack. It now just wows the kids on parades and leaks diff fluid on my driveway during the week!
