Mine is exactly the same. Good find and thanks for the pics. Think about starting your own thread about your truck.
We certainly would appreciate sharing your experience!

Both manifolds look the same, They have the same casting numbers. The only difference is one was machined with a bevel to accept the exhaust doughnut and the other one is flat to accept the steel reinforced flat gasket.
I'm assuming there were some differences in manifolds. I have seen some variances. I have one manifold with flange for a flat gasket and one for an exhaust doughnut. One looks a little smaller around the heat riser area. I'm thinking one is an aftermarket replacement. I'll look today and see a...
Actually you can. A little work on the housing with a grinder to open a small area, you can flip the center section so the pinion turns the opposite direction. you have to cua about a 1/2" off 1 axle shaft. (I cannot remember wich one) That is how mudboggers and truck pullers do it and then run...
Whew! Thanks for the hard work. I have a hard time spending that kind ogn money on a muffler. I paid 3x that for my running, braking, really noisy truck.
I guess I'm cheep.
For what it is worth, my red truck had a flex pipe where the muffler used to be. They put a cherry bomb glass pack...
I had the same thought only using a fuel cell. Decided it was easier to take it out and clean it up with a garden hose and reinstall. Once you get the fuel pump out, you can stick your arm in there. I've done 3 now. One was really bad. I ended up using the inline aftermarket $50 24v fuel pump...
I'll turn the smell down.
If you watch Ebay and search g749 you will find wires and a carb rebuild kit. Are you sure the wires are bad? you may be able to touch the plugs with a sandblaster to get them cleaned up enough to get her started and running good.
Carb kit $20-30
Plug wires $60
I...
Ahhhhh yes, the fuel pump. How could I forget that miserable thing. aua
Add a rust free tank as long as we are at it.
I think there is a source for aftermarket civy exhaust manifolds. I believe I have one, but it is a little different where the pipe hooks up. One has a flat surface and the...
I have been thinking on the wheel cylinders. I suppose they could be chucked in a lathe and run a boring bar through them. Open then up another size and use a standard Wagner rebuild kit with the new style pistons and cups. Problem is, you can still find cylinders for $22.50 and a kit costs...
I have been trying to aquire brake parts and an extra transmission.
I found a truck that was heading to the scrap yard. The axles were taken for a mud bogger or puller. The guy let me drive the truck before he torched it. I was able to buy the transmission for $100. It has a REB kit.
I got...
I figured I should start a thread detailing what we think an owner of a G749 should have stashed in an ammo can for future repairs. These trucks are getting old and parts are getting harder to find. Obviously, a salvage yard full of good trucks and 2 retired mechanics that work for free is the...
Got the master today. It looks great! Absolutely brand new, not a speck of rust. Made in Korea stamped on the box.
The magazines, Rock and Dirt as well as Military Vehicles list the price as $55. I was quoted 14.95 shipping. We discussed this and they advised the price was now $60 prior to me...
