I think that I have fixed my shutter stat. I replaced three of the smaller o-rings for which I had the right sizes in my o-ring kit. I didn't have quite the right size for the larger o-ring, and I left the one under the crimped retainer alone. I cleaned out the valve and lubed the o-rings with...
I got the wrench, but haven't had a chance to pull the pump yet. Maybe this weekend? I'll order the gasket along with the rest of the tach drive parts that I will need, once I get in there and find out how much is broken.
I just received a pair of reproduction pins made by one of our esteemed members. They turned out great! I may grind the ends of one of the drift pins just a bit, since I found that the keyholes aren't exactly the same size on both ends of my bar, and one of the pins only wants to fit on the side...
I call mine an "M1037" because that's the model that it's closest to in its current configuration. SOoif somebody looks up "M1037", they'll see something similar to my truck. My dataplate still says "M998", and I still have the rear seat bases installed. I've considered removing them, but I...
I've had my truck in many configurations (including 2-door cargo with troop seats), and it's presently converted to an M1037, complete with a fully equipped shelter on the back. I found a pair of the rear filler panels with the access hatch on the bottom, but I haven't seen ones that actually...
If my memory serves me right, having us provide all of the information for the SF-97 is an improvement over how they did it before. Getting an SF-97 with wrong details can cause lots of heartburn.
Rather than taking heat whenever they screw up on an SF-97 request, GL passes the responsibility of getting it all right on to the buyer. You tell them what to put on their SF-97 application that they send to the government, and they send it in. Listings often have inaccurate details, whether...
The button on the end of the transfer case lever should actuate an air cylinder on the transfer to unlock the shifter. You need to hold it while shifting the transfer case lever, and the power needs to be turned on, and you need to have air pressure.
When I get into a spot where the transfer...
Congratulations on your new truck! PLEASE SHARE PICTURES!!
The transfer cases on the M939-series are very hard to shift if the vehicle isn't moving. It gets easier with some practice, as you learn to avoid needing to shift it on level ground while not moving.
Yes, down is high range...
Derp! I missed the Cornwell link the first time through. It looks just like the Sunex one I linked to, at about the same price. Probably came from the same factory, just like all of the imported bottle jacks of a given size have the same casting marks on the bottom, whether they have read paint...
Cool. That 2000-pounder looks just like the ones I've seen listed at Harbor Freight, etc., so it's good to know that they're actually usable with an engine similar to a 6.2 V8.
On the topic of geared ones, I wonder whether one like either of these might be worth the money, or junk that I'd...
Google Earth got new imagery for my place last June, after I got the M923, before I got the M936A1, and before I sold the M543A2 or the VW Fastback. There have been a few updates since I moved in, and it's fun to see stuff come and go and move around.
Thanks! Is it hard to turn over an engine like a 6.2 on a non-geared rotating engine stand? The only engine stand I've ever used was a small rotating one with a VW engine hanging off of it. Would any old "2000 pound" made-in-China rotating engine stand do the trick, or would I be wasting my...
