I stopped by today to drop off the Smoke discharger parts for the Sheridan.
Checked out your hard work.
I can work on something for the blades but the one blade tip is kind of crusty. you sure you want to make them rotate?
I'm all in if you do.
I think we should get the red strobe on the...
Will do you know what model 40mm went in that thing originally.
I can't imagine it being like a MK-19 with a top cover .
I can bring my sim fired Mk-19 down and see if it would fit. Maybe see what it looks like with a barrel sticking out.
Those type flying contraptions don't do well when they looses part of the main blades. Planes at least glide. That thing is voodoo magic.
A whole bunch of moving parts beating the crap out of the air around it trying to tear itself apart.
Your having way to much fun without me. Nice to see you getting to play with a few things outside your normal . I might have some more linked 40MM stuff. Gave some to Craig Awhile back. Sierra Madre PD still has a nice belt of Dummy 40MM rounds they confiscated from me when we did 4th of July...
Does it have a fording valve in it . it would be located to the right of the steering wheel next to the dog house behind the e brake lever.
However they sometimes chop the fording valve out for some reason when de-milling so there may be a hole there and no valve.
Stick with a Jeep .
Or a Civi H1
If your truly planning on getting lost the novelty of the HMMWV will wear off waiting for parts or trying to find a mechanic to fix it out on the road.
And it sounds like the one your looking at has already been modified ( rear steering)
While your rolling around under it tap on the frame rails. They are hollow or open on one end. Depending on where it came from or saw service and in which branch of the service it was in it may have seen some salt water or been fording something.
Wasn't uncommon in the early HMMWV's to suffer...
Not sure where your trying to fish big cannon plug through. It only has to go through 1 hole and hole is big enough to accommodate plug then a grommet seals hole.
I've heard it's possible to change harness without removing body but it's a lot easier to remove body to swap harness.
I would also add post it in the Mod and hot-rodding section of the HMMWV section as none of it will be stock it sounds like so there for it belongs in that section.
