So, let it be on this day the 16th of January, in the year 2023 that Mogman will forever be known as Smogman
Thus, sayeth the BLK HMMWV. All in favor say Aye.
I always ask the same questions when I see these posts.
What are your plans for the HMMWV.
Are you going to restore it or mod it into something else.
You mention you want a slant back.
do you want it to have a functional turret in it?
If not, then you could roll the dice and wait for something...
Could be a couple of things.
are they steel and about 3/16 of an inch thick?
They made some first gen supplemental armor plates that went along the inside of the trucks from the front footwells down the sides of the trucks.
Newer trucks that had the supplemental aluminum armor plates on the...
The only person that used to offer anything stopped making them.
He made two versions of it. Gen 1 wasn't Bluetooth. Gen 2 was
I may have his gen 1 version still available if I can find it. I'd let it go for $150 shipped in the U.S.
I have yet to install my intercom in my truck. It's on my to do...
To answer your question the tire carrier on the military HMMWV in the first 3 pictures was the one made and offered by AMG I believe.
They also made the swing away water/fuel 2 can carrier. They were the thing to have until the Rhino came out.
They original pair worked together without blocking...
I believe in the first Gen 2-piece Magnesium run flats the grease was in little packets that were taped / affixed to the run flat.
I'm guessing the initial concept was the that when the tire actually went flat it would pop the packet open and then coat the inside of the tire.

Like Mainsail asked.
What is your end game with truck.
Trucks are plentiful in allot of variants.
Are you going to try and restore it?
Are you going to modify it?
What amount of patience do you have sourcing parts?
If you want anything with a functional turret in it in the end your better off...
That's all part of owning a High Maintenance Money Wasting Vehicle (HMMWV)
don't tell me you thought the acronym stood for something else.
I'm no expert but when your truck is running the fuel has some place to go. when it shuts off the pressure that was built up between the mechanical lift...
I'm not sure I can answer your question other than to say it may just be leaking more than before because the leak is getting worse. And you're using it more.
Many years ago, I had a leak in the valley and traced it to the secondary pump (I believe it is called the Accelerator pump?) on the...
That is odd. I've towed a HMMWV with a HMMWV on surface streets from Holly wierd to El Monte once with a military tow bar after the towed vehicles trans took a crap. It wasn't a lot of fun, but I didn't have any problems.
How were you towing it.
At one point I planned on adding the extended nose parts to my truck and started acquiring them I have most of the big parts I'm not sure I'm ever going to get around to doing it now.
one for sale over on the G.
