    wsucougarx's M923 acquisition

Mike, you hit better garage sales than me this weekend, but I did get a 1941 dated set of Russian binoculars with case yesterday at one. I did pick up one of those tow cables awhile back, only to find out that they would not fit over pintle hitch on the M54. Now I think I need one of the hitch...

Okay, we both need work on this. According to the TM 9-... April 79, a M416A1 has a shipping weight of 640 pounds, this is on Page 1-2 fig. 1-1. It has a payload cross country of 500 pounds and highway of 750. Thank you for tuning me up on this, I have had the wrong figure in my head for a...

    PNW Info Thread!

Would you want it to be stock or does it matter? This trailer has a tailgate, which is more convenient sometimes for loading and there is not lunette ring. These can get pricey if you need to go out and put one on. Sorry I am not close enough to go look, but barring gaping holes in the floor...

    Painting an Air Force Deuce

Great paint job and look at the way they put a receiver hitch on that truck. Any possibilities of some closeup shots of your mounting for that hitch?

    Painting an Air Force Deuce

If you are trying to keep it original, if it had sandbox time, how about keeping it in its combat time colors? do you know the unit it belonged to? My truck is a 68 and was going to green it, but after talking with many vets on this issue, the vote seems to be for combat time color.

Military Family Appreciation Day - Lacey WA

Hello Team, Here is another event we could do on Sept. 8, 2012. We should probably show up in the 0800 to 0830 range. Parking will be an issue, so we may need to take a few cones, get there early and take over a section of the parking lot, just outside of the event. The event will conclude...

    PNW Info Thread!

Hey team, this Saturday and Sunday is the Steam Threshing Bee at Toledo, WA, immediately adjacent to the airport. MV's are welcome and they let you in for free if you are displaying your vehicle. Larry M. will most likely be there both days and I am trying to decide what to take down for this...

    MVPA 2012 Alaska Highway Convoy

Got a call from 1st Sgt. Gifford today and they are either close to the apex of the trip or started on the downward leg. I think he said tomorrow there was going to be a celebration at the end of the road that was built back in 1942. things are going well for most, but it appears that one jeep...

    MVPA 2012 Alaska Highway Convoy

Got a report from the 1st Sgt. tonight. The 43 CCKW is performing well. They are in Dawson City. Approx 65 vehicles made it for this adventure. He only had one problem so far and that was falling asleep and running off the road. Fortunately he went into the cleared right of way with no...

    MVPA 2012 Alaska Highway Convoy

Got a report from 1SG Gifford this afternoon and they made Dawson creek. He did run out of fuel about 5 miles outside of town, but had extra on board. He found out that his 43 CCKW pulling a Ben Hur trailer will go 236 miles on a tank of fuel. Last night they had some rain and his quarters...

    MVPA 2012 Alaska Highway Convoy

If you saw a CCKW and a couple Chev 1 1/2 tons, that would have been Bill, Steve, and Neil. the timing was about right.

PNW-2012-Fourth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

We have all brought home toys that were in worse condition. Amram is just looking because all the tires have air. :-D The deal is worth the price for scrap.

Retired M925 Finds Home In Seattle Area

The 4 color paint job on the M54 was done with a brush over the original solid green paint of the Vietnam era. After looking at Cougs, it really makes me want to spray it, so now I am torn between leaving it as original as I can and doing a fairly decent job on it. If I could get a fairly...

    MVPA 2012 Alaska Highway Convoy

I haven't heard anything of a need for road assistance, so they must be in Canada by now. Probably locked up by the RCMP. We discussed the pros and cons of this mission and we finally decided if you weren't doing it in a WW2 rig, you were along for the ride. Besides you don't see as...
