I have a little converto dump trailer sitting at a friend of a member’s place in Henderson, NC. It’s probably around 75 years old so I’d guess it should be hauled and not towed. I’m looking to get it brought north if anyone has room for it at some point. The long hitch could be cut off to...
The complete landing legs on m101, m101a1, m101a2, and m101a3 trailers are interchangeable with each other but not the m416s. The leg itself that bolts to the casting (only separate on m101 and m101a1s) is same as on the m416 except for the height (m416 is a bit shorter).
All the floodlight parts and some field chock sockets have arrived. Forum member Dead pilot helped me out by picking up and shipping those from California. I can see why the light brackets were left off the later wreckers, they’re heavy and complicated (but pretty cool in my opinion).
I sanded...
Dead pilot helped me out big time with some wrecker parts I needed for one of my projects. He drove and picked the stuff up, then disassembled it all, boxed it up, and then shipped it to me. I’m sure it was a hassle and took a fair amount of time. I’m glad there are people like Jason in the...
Took a look at the front axle, I don’t see a whole lot wrong with it. The only thing keeping it from moving was the brakes. Once I got the drums off it all moves just fine. There was a little water in the hubs and a little bit in the diff but not very much at all.
The wheel bearings look...
The pipeline truck is definitely nice to have, especially for a lift like the m108 bed which would be a bit tough to hoist with just the big forklift because of the boom.
The m108 was delivered today. Looks almost as nice as it did a couple months ago. :) What a beauty!
Looks like it had...
The ford showed up a few days ago so we’ve done a little work on that. The crane did rotate (before the hose for it popped of course ) so that’s good. I cut the front tube open to free up some outrigger pieces. They’re not complete but there are some useful parts. At least the rear two...
Thanks a bunch for doing that, I know those aren’t the easiest to deal with. I might have to look further into adapting those to an m108 if I can’t come up with the right stuff. I have all the horizontal tubes and the base plates but 2 outriggers are missing the adjustment screws and vertical...
If you ever have the outriggers down on both trucks would you mind comparing the adjustment screws on them? I know the outriggers are different but the screws look to be of a similar design. 2 of my m108 outriggers are missing a few parts.
The frames I have are all for the TEMPER tents. Same design as the 16x16 expandable but the arches are taller (temper tents are 16x20). The headers and purlins are the same, not sure how difficult it would be to shorten the arches up to work on the 16x16.
Welcome to the site.
Looks like a stainless m149a2 buffalo, the m107 is much older. The brakes will roll free if there is no air in the tank.
You’ll want a pintle hook, some chains to extend the safety chains (they’re often too short depending on the hitch), and you’ll want some magnetic lights...
Ok great. I’ll be there Saturday until later in the afternoon most likely.
If anyone else wants ammo cans or anything else let me know by this evening. I have an empty 20ft trailer tagging along so I can bring whatever for stuff, as long as it’s a done deal.
