I remember when this thread started and admit that since my initial post (#3) I have not followed this discussion.
My current view is: The utility of the deuce is to provide short term gratification at the expense of financial security.

THANK YOU! I am using Firefox. I searched and found the zoom commands that I did not know existed until you mentioned them and reset the zoom using the cntrl + 0. All is well!
I wonder if I'll remember this the next time it happens?

Last week I upgraded from Windows 8.0 to 8.1 and all was well until an hour ago.
While I was navigating the "New Posts" search results, the font size suddenly shrank to half size! I can now display twice the posts at half the size! Except that everything is so small it's hard to read anything...
Hi and welcome to our craziness!
Many of us started with the deuce for the exact reasons you mention. But do yourself a favor and drive a few of them and a few of the M939 series 5 ton trucks before laying down the cash. For a daily driver, the 5 ton is much easier and won't dampen the joy...
For the engine, you could remove and clean the pan and press or beat a slight indentation into the pan for the magnet at a low point, then epoxy the magnet into place.
Any other install places are going to be where there is sufficient space and will probably require dis-assembly.

Hi John,
I'm curious to know if you have made progress on those vehicles you bought. I may have missed any updates and would appreciate a link to the recovery thread, if that's where you are posting updates.

The tent NSN is 8340-00-782-3232. An informative webpage for the specific tent can be found at: http://www.tentnet.org/tentnet/basecamp/fte/16x16TYI.pdf
I have an incomplete support system for you. It's got the main frame but is missing some parts that are common to other tent systems, but you...
I recently did an internet search and found a company that sells tracks that fit over the deuce rear tires, making the deuce an effective tracked vehicle. It eliminates the gear ratio concern, however it raises a new concern about finance.
The system is three times what I paid for my trucks.

I am still of the opinion that a extended cab is the preferable solution. It will be more work but the extra cab space is very nice to have, for driver and passenger comfort.
If you only extend the cab enough to gain the needed leg room, say 18" or less, you can simply slide the bed back on the...
Looks like a good score!
Are you going to fabricate a frame for the worm drive or did it come inside one?
Do the holes in the bull gear match the boom base?
Rick
Not trying to be a smart ass, but have you considered stretching the cab and moving the seat back? It would be more work but makes the entire cabin more spacious.

Your intended purpose will dictate the best tires and configuration.
For mostly over the road use with occasional ventures off road, I agree with Ron on duals, however I have not seen any 1200 x 20 tires. I have seen many of the 1100 x 20, in a variety of types. If you are on road most the...
