    New here...already in deep

The hype may be that there is about half the weight of the trailer reducing your trailer load capacity, due to being so darned heavy. Plus the braking system is not compatible. That's all. Oh, and the pintle height is not a match. I'm sure you will find a way to accommodate your cheap...

Towbar Y feet (3/4 in and 1 in feet) Safety

I saw that thread and mentioned parts as well. I too would like to know if the Y feet are something to collect or avoid. Rick

    M35a2 tires

I second well diggers experience and suggestions. I will add to his post by mentioning that duals do have an advantage on road when you are running heavy loads. I find duals are more stable. Possibly due to there being twice the number of sidewalls under the load. Rick

    Wrecker Bed (A Good Laugh.)

That sounds like a way better plan than restoring the metal work. Rick

M928A1....to scrap or not to scrap...that is the question.

The issue may not be obvious to you through a visual inspection, for example a loose valve seat. However using the normal compression testing and leak down methods should guide you to a diagnosis. I am am another vote for saving the rig and encourage you to diagnose the problem and let us know...

Adding multipurpose hydraulics to the deuce

While I am a scarcastic SOB most all the time, my surprise and delight to learn about a PTO simulator is genuine. One thing on my mind at the moment is that the Unimog has a distinct advantage in visibility from the driver seat for manipulating a front end implement. I doubt the deuce could be...

Adding multipurpose hydraulics to the deuce

Wow, a hydraulically driven PTO simulator! I had no idea those even existed! I have to agree that a 3 point system is a really valuable piece on a work truck. Especially on a winch truck. I have seen videos of Unimogs winching enormous logs out of the woods using a winch and a blade that is...

    deuce locking hubs help

    Power Steering Possibility?

Good point rustystud. So, we are now considering: The Ross/Saginaw gear with less turns lock to lock, making full use of the power assist, or The stock steering gear with power assist applied to the steering linkage, offering redundancy at the expense of utilizing the fullest advantage of the...

    Broken glow removal,Any advice ??

If it sticks up any and it's steel, you may be able to weld a nut onto the tip for leverage and turning. I would start soaking the hole with penetrant as well. Rick

I have read a lot not sure to buy

$15 large for a winch truck is twice the hobby price for a truck. Unless you like leaving a huge pile of cash on the table, I'd wait a bit. Take a look at Ebay and our classifieds. You will find comparisons to guide you in pricing. Rick

    Should I?

I have always wanted to count to Potato, but I can't. That eliminated my choices of "sometimes", "always", "I can count" and "all of the above". I try counting Potato every so often, which eliminates "never". I am still trying to learn to count Potato, so "yes"' "no" and "maybe" apply, but I...
