Has anyone converted to serp belt and kept the 24v dual alts ?

I have no experience with the GM products for the government, but was there not a 6.5L replacement for the 6.2L for the humvees? If so I expect they have continued the serpentine system that accommodated a twin alternator 24 volt system. If not, why not modify the twin alternator system and...

Removing deuce wheel, I'm at a loss

If the ends of the studs are marked with an "L", then you may be fighting the rare and surprising "hub swap" from the other side of the truck. Otherwise, I recommend a 3/4" breaker bar and socket with a pipe cheater, giving you room to stand on the breaker and crack those babies loose...

Trailers compatible with air over hydraulic braking systems

Interesting information, and it makes sense. However I have not found a TM for the trailer. I have found TM's for the water purification unit that sits atop the trailer. The trailer operations are included in the TM and I also found a NSN for the trailer contained in the unit TM. however I...

How to make a Hard Top ???

I believe I saw that Boyce Equipment sells hard tops and hoods for our trucks, for $700 plus shipping. Boyce Equipment Axles and Military Parts You may find it advantageous to purchase their hood and modify it to suit your needs. Working with fiberglass is fairly easy, but designing and...

Trailers compatible with air over hydraulic braking systems

Guys is there a definitive list of trailers compatible with the deuce, meaning the trailers that have the correct pintle height, are under 6k lbs gross and have braking systems that function with the air over hydraulic brakes? The reason I ask is I recently purchased a flatbed trailer thinking...

    Yes, Another Trans Stuck Thread

I agree, in my experience a miss-aligned shifter will enable you to put the tranny into 2 gears at the same time, essentially locking up the transmission. In your case, you shift it and are in reverse only. And again, in my experience, a backwards running engine does not take throttle or...

How to make a Hard Top ???

If I read your post correctly, are you considering forming sheet steel to fit over a soft top frame? If so, your idea is unique and is worth a study of the soft top frame for suitability. With hard tops fetching $500 to a grand, you have some space to consider you unique idea. Rick
