Okay I was going from memory and it's been a very very long time since I was involved in towing an M37 and therefore I was off a little on the neutral thins... so you would need to put the transfer case in disengaged and high. I thought it had a neutral position, but upon looking it up I see it...
With the drive shaft connected you were turning all the parts up through the transmission. I'm assuming that the transmission was in neutral? How about the transfer case was it in neutral also? If they both were then it shouldn't have caused any problems, but it if the transfer case was in...
That's interesting that you had that done Gunny. When I was into VWs back in the late 80s and early 90s there were a lot of articles that I read on turning up the power on the old flat four of the VW Bug. The most important was to blueprint and balance the system out. I never thought of using...
You will have to make up a system similar to the CUCV because the injector pump cutoff relay is 12v on the CUCV and if you are keeping the stock CUCV alternators then you will have two 12v outputs.
Your on the right track. Check the hot wires check the grounds. If the HMMWV follows conventional MV wiring there is a circ breaker in the light switch. The -20 manual should give you step by step troubleshooting of the lighting system.
My truck has an original steel hardtop and I do not have any bows. After looking at VPW website it looks like they designed the top to work with the bows so that you didn't need to remove them where as the original top does not work with bows. I'd say give them a call and see if you can use the...
The VPW top seems to be an exact replica of the steel stock GI hard top. I don't think the bows are needed for it....but check with them. If it is an exact match to the original then I would thin the fit would be about the same...that being that the GI top fit marginally well all things...
Take the pump to a good auto parts store. One that has knowledgeable staff and see if they can find a replacement. If memory serves me right (and it may not) a Chevy small block fuel pump may work. I know the bolt up is the same and gasket to block is the same so maybe that will work. Take...
Picking up a new vehicle that you've never driven before (not counting time in service) and not knowing the mechanics on it. i.e. How well it has been maintained etc. I would trailer it back. That being said. If I know the truck and know what it can do I would drive it 300 miles no problem and...
White smoke generally means antifreeze issues with the motor. Might want to look at that instead of the transmission. Trans leak is usually a sign of the truck marking its territory.
