Love the progress! Cant wait to see it in the truck. I know of a guy on the facebook page who put an 8LL Fuller in a m923a2. I asked to see if he had pictures/video but havent heard back. Keep up the great work!
I saw his truck for sale for a long time and couldnt swing it. If I would of known what he would of taken, I would of have bought it! Oh well is right. A day late and a dollar short.
bumping this up to see if there are any better new replacement bushings or updates on the new metal ones? I welded quarter inch plate across all of my dog bones but cant do much for the top ones.
Nice build! Truck looks good and you have some nice fabrication skills. I bet between the intercooler and pump modifications she moves now! How did she pull with the trailer and wrecker?
Did yo ever find a part number for the intercooler?
I had the same problems with boost gauge on an older dodge cummins. Had to put a snubber on it. Just goggle it and find one that fits your thread pattern. Its reducer fitting to control the boost fluctuations. Or you could move the sensor to another place. Maybe on the intake manifold?
As you stated, if the smoke is unburnt fuel, try isolating each injector when running to see if there is one culprit. Could be one lazy injector when cold. Im pretty sure I have a lazy injector but its a dark gray color. It does go away once warmed up. If any engine sits for a long time...
Simp,
To clarify, did you still use engine oil after you went to an external cooler? Did you change plumb the trans into a normal transmission cooler and put it in front of the radiator? My temps were fine lately, around 200-225 but its not even hot out and I wasnt loaded down. I personally...
Had a fun time this weekend! Great group of guys and finally got to explore the north side. I think we all had our little break downs but its part of the fun. Hope to see everyone in the spring!
Here are some of my pics
I have some decent videos that I have to upload and then post on...
Bumping this thread to see if there are any reviews of the new metal bushings or the other methods of securing the original torque rods. I just had two pop off this weekend while off roading. I had to weld a wrench across the bushing to keep the torque rod in place to limp off the trail. Not...
You dont have to bring firewood just for me. I have plenty of wood at home and will bring some. I will be driving my 5 ton there.
I also saw on the facebook M939 5 Ton page that a few guys are wanting to come down with their 5 tons. Not sure if there are members here.
Been busy getting the truck ready this week. I will be staying over Friday night and Saturday night. Ill be arriving Friday afternoon. Weather looks great. Looking forward to see everyone there!
Both brackets are nice. I was just looking to make a bracket for some switches in my new 923.
I would like the 3D file. My buddy used to work for makerbot, a big 3D printer company. He has a bunch of printers at home and he can print me anything up to 18" x 18" x 18". Maybe you could...
This is my worst dumb movement. I was replacing the dog bones on my 813. So constantly underneath and getting out from the truck. I worked on the dog bones over a few weeks since they were so stubborn. One day, a few weeks into the project, the ground was muddy from rain. I decided to lay the...
I have a torn front axle boot as well and I'm not worried about it. There are a few "puddles" for 5 tons along the trail but nothing that would be of a concern. The real deep stuff is completely your choice. You should come down. It's a fun time. There's a good group of guys who head down.
Having just bought a 923a2 and previously having a 813 W/W, both trucks have their benefits and disadvantages. I try not to shovel much of anything out of the bed of my truck but sometimes you need too. I dont need a dump truck for what I do, so I stuck with another cargo truck and will put a...
I will definitely be there. Just got Friday the 21st off at work. Ill be arriving RC Friday afternoon and staying over Friday and Saturday night. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can have a nice bonfire Saturday night after a fun day! See every one there!
