Can MRAP wheels be mounted "deep dish" style without flipping hubs?

Here's the pictures of a rear rim tapped for a valve stem. The aluminum mrap rims are thick enough to accept a tap.

    Broken Rockwell Axle

395 xzl michelins on mrap rims. The tires rub for sure on the bed, but not enough to break the rear end. I have yet to lose any tread from tire rub. I push my trucks to their full potential and with that comes broken parts. I'll get her fixed and on to the next adventure. What tire rub. Haha

    Broken Rockwell Axle

I'm 300 miles from home working. I don't have the luxury of tinkering in the garage after work, because I'm gone for a week at a time. I come home on the weekend and want to spend 2 precious days with my family and my 9 month old son, because I don't see them all week. Hopefully soon I'll be...

    Broken Rockwell Axle

She's broke for sure. I have just been so busy with work I haven't had time to take it apart yet. Stay tuned for updates, I'm really curious what broke. P.s. I confirmed it by putting the truck in a deep rut in rear wheel drive only and the rear axle has power and spins the rear tires and the...

    Broken Rockwell Axle

Well I told ya so doesnt work for me. I heard that the 2.5 ton rockwells are weak when running bigger tires, but this is crazy. I was at a jeep run "tierra del sol", and while crawling the notches (a gathering place for idiots) i managed to break either spider gears or a axle shaft on the middle...

Can MRAP wheels be mounted "deep dish" style without flipping hubs?

Honestly, drilling and tapping the rims was not difficult at all. It took longer to get the rims off the truck than it took to do the work.

LDT Engine Temp In 30F Weather

i run 180-200 degrees here in southern California. I also have bigger tires, and my ip is turned all the way up. Egts play a big role in how hot my truck runs. If im pulling a big grade and running 1100 to 1250 Egt, i notice she gets warmer than usual. I have never seen over 200 degrees yet.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Just in case I need to lift something that I can't pick up myself.

Can MRAP wheels be mounted "deep dish" style without flipping hubs?

On the aluminum rims you can drill and tap threads in the dish and move your valve stems to the inside of wheel. You just need to plug the existing hole where the valve stem was. I'll try and get some pics.

I am definitely game for a trip out to your place! Just gotta figure out a time. It's probably a 3 hour trip from menifee to there in the deuce.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Started with a harbor freight bed crane. I mounted a 2000 lb atv winch in place of the original hand crank. I need to add some plate and gussets to the bed, when I pick up a 395 mounted on a wheel with a runflat, the crane flexes the bed more than I would like. All in all so far I'm under $300...

It was bound to happen sometime. San Diego county highway patrol. I drove away with a class c, in a historic registered truck, with a jeep rockcrawler on a towbar, which had expired tags. My plates are not mounted on the deuce, the Leo just gave me a fix it ticket for the tags on the jeep, and...

cost of ownership (the real cost of a deuce)

1987 m35a2 $4500 Switching to 395 mraps $4500 Turning up fuel $0 Gauges for egt and boost $350 3rd air tank and all fittings and connectors $200 $9550 That isn't with registration and insurance costs, but is pretty much my investment into my deuce over 8 months during and after purchase.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I finally flat towed my jeep to and from the high desert and also used the deuce as a recovery vehicle out there. It towed the jeep at 55mph no problem.

Road trip in a HET, CA to MT.

Very nice truck. I got to see it in person and was checkin it out. I wouldn't mind having a het someday.

    Any more power from IP?

I bypassed my fdc the other day and have been monitoring the boost and egt. I have recently jumped up to 395 size tires and the truck could barely maintain speed on flat ground. Egt was 850 degrees and about 5 psi boost. Now I am pushing 1000 degrees on flat ground and will jump to 1200 if I...
