I finally added a boost and pyro gauge, the truck had a max egt of 900 degrees at the stock fuel setting while running 395 size tires. Next I bypassed the fdc, and now have seen a max egt of 1150 degrees uphill.
I also setup my jeep to accept a medium towbar, but still need to make towing...
What is the story on those front hubs? I have never seen caps look like that.
I wish I did 11.00 size on my deuce instead of the 395's.... Oh well maybe next time. Looks good!
I had wandering issues and vibration issues. Re set my toe, and dropped the air psi from 90 to 55 psi. This helped a lot, next I will try changing the caster In the front axle.
I installed my rears dish out (24 bolt aluminum mrap) and I had clearance issues with the brake drum nuts and the 24 rim bolts. I clocked the rims to a different hole on the wheel studs and repeated until the nuts on the rim and the nuts on the brake drum cleared each other. If you run dish out...
I love the look of the 395's but since I put them on my deuce, I'm seeing some ill handling differences now. Anyone have real world advise on whether or not it's worth changing the front caster to 4 degrees? Other than that all I can do is adjust tire pressure and install air o matic on the...
i installed the 395's on my deuce, and found out I need to flip the rear hubs. Running dish out with mraps, I cannot check the rear tire pressure due to the rim being so close to the brake drum. Another thing, the socket head bolts will contact the brake drum nuts if you don't clock the rim so...
Good luck, I hear once reg commercial you can't go back to historic. When registered historic you can go to commercial or recreational veh.
Don't quote me on this but it's what I was told when registering my m818
I am just waiting on a shipment of 1" bolts. Then I will be putting on my new rims and tires.
So I articulated the rear suspension today, checking how far from the bed the tires get.
With stock 9.00 ndt tires, I have about 1 1/2 inches of clearance before the tire rubs the bottom of the bed. So...
You can be moving any speed, just make sure your off the throttle when engaging or disengaging front axle.
I take my deuce out in the dunes near baker ca, and have never had a issue engaging and disengaging front axle while in and out of soft sand. It's best to use it only when you need it and...
I changed my fuel filters on the deuce. Before cranking I let the lift pump cycle for 2 or 3 minutes to fill the filters back up. Crank and fired right up no problem.
For the op, try and get a ride in a bobber and try and get in a 6x6 and decide what is better for you. That is the best way to figure out what works best for you. The only other thing is your imagination and your wallet....
