Knoxville TN, Broke down TN i-40 eastbound near Knoxville

Between 68-69 and again between 72-73 just seems like something missing from the conversation. I never saw any mention of damage.

    6.2 locked up

Yes, A lot of the parts are the same but the lines have to stay with the heads. 6.2 heads have to use 6.2 lines.

Knoxville TN, Broke down TN i-40 eastbound near Knoxville

Were there a bunch of posts cut out of here? Got real confusing after he mentioned getting back on the road. Seems like two or maybe three posts missing? Ferro, isn't this wrecker bed going to you? You live in S.C. don't you? Last time I checked you had to go through South Carolina from Tenn. to...

    6.2 locked up

The 6.5 lines are made for the 6.5 heads and they are a different injector angle. If you have the 6.2 heads on there then you will have to use the 6.2 lines so they line up. Do NOT bend any of the lines! You will get a knock that you would swear is a rod knock. It changes the timing on that...

    battery guage question

So now we all know that you know how to do that stuff. Would have just been easier to tell us the gauge size I think. Rick

    Events in or around NJ?

The last couple of years at Aberdeen were pretty disappointing. This coming year will be the first time in 25 years that I am not going. It's a great gig for the party crowd, just not my style.

    M1009 Master cylinder replacement, Atlana

Which end is getting low? Front or rear? Front getting low would indicate need for pads rear getting low would indicate a leak. Rotted lines are very common on these.

    6.2 gurus

You need the 24 volt Main battery wire on the starter terminal and the smaller terminal will be a 24 volt starter wire. Basically if you jump from the large terminal to the small one on the starter it will crank. Rick

Adam, something to think about before hauling that weight too much further on that trailer is alignment. I have seen many times where the spring bushings wear and the axles will get out of alignment with each other. That will build up heat very fast in the tires with a load like that. I would...

    24VDC power steering m35a2

There are certain Heim joints that are legal for steering, the ones pictured are not the ones but really it does change in every state. You have a completely re-engineered suspension and as such in most state it will have to go to a special inspection unit where automotive engineers will inspect...

    battery boost resister question

If you want to go with digital then Google Glow-Shift. They are the ones I have in my Dodge. I don't have digital but I know they carry them. 24 volt I don't know. Glad I could be of assistance, let me know if it took care of those problems. Rick On edit, I just looked at Glow shift's site and...

    battery guage question

Didn't think about it while you were here today but a lot of big trucks (civilian) run on 24 volts. Might want to check the big truck forums. Rick

    My new front bumper

That is a nice looking bumper but my main question is why make it so heavy? It is only as strong as the next weakest link which is the frame. The original bumper would absorb some of the impact before transferring the rest to the frame. In your case ANY impact at all will go directly to the...

Stolen 1967 kaiser m54a2 waynesburg pa

Why all the secrecy? Does he really expect someone to call the State police and ask them questions about the truck?! Why is the owner not posting if he is a member? I have done a few investigations in my time and I know what this looks like, I will make no assumptions here but look at it from...

    battery boost resister question

I am about to hit the sack so I will give the short version and pm you my phone number and you can call me tomorrow if you have a question. You would set you meter for 24 volts as usual, put one lead on the positive battery post and the other lead on the positive terminal. What you are looking...

    battery boost resister question

What you really need to do is not just a voltage test but a voltage drop test. That needs to be done on each battery and each alternator and all of the major grounds. That will tell you if and where you are loosing power.

    battery boost resister question

That wire probably burned because of a loose or dirty connection. Believe me, there is always a reason.:)

Bad news from the mechanic x)

In that case they may very well have the stuff to test the injectors BUT, I would still get a second opinion from a local shop. Remember, this is the same vehicle as the civvie Chevy trucks with the 6.2 diesel. There are millions of them out there and lots of shops have worked on them and know...
