In addition to my comments on pressure PI on ground with the super singles or tandem duals, many vehicles have done better in snow with less weight on the tires. I have seen a Model "T" depot hack with only the driver in it climb hills that FWD's would have...

You are really making me love my M105A2 with whatever minor problems it has with rust, as the Air over Hydraulic brakes work really well. Good luck, but i think the C clamp might just do it for you.
Cheers,

Old boy, its not the tires, its the underloaded truck that's sitting on them. Plus road tires will not grab like M+S designed for off road use when they are on pavement or pavelment covered with melted snow turned to ice. If you calculate the...

Is it quite possible that the mere existance of any of our machines, beyond their intrinsic worth as trucks, jeeps, & c. represents a political statement? Moreover, should this country ever be attacked (from without or within), I doubt that the attackers would...

Cranetrucks use of the #356 bulb makes the gauges 100% better as regards readability at night (white or clear covers would improve it more, but they are hard as hades to find). I did my truck almost two years ago, and I can say it was worth the change.
Cheers,

I would say that the government applied chain (for locking the steering wheel) is usually hardened, which can be very hard on bolt cutters. But the other suggestion on here are pretty good..... in Texas the bastages (love that term) usually meet up with a most...

On the subject of stuck, I've seen the Pa ANG stick a Michigan scraper bulldozer, (something like an articulated payloader with a bulldozer blade on the front end unit (2 wheels) and past the articulation an elevating scraper and the last two wheels)), then stick another...

Drop me a line and I'll send you one or two of the plastic wiper motors. I couldn't get them off the truck fast enough so I could put metal ones on from Desert Deuce. If I had had the deep pockets at the time, I would have used the electric...

From a man who owned a 1955 General Motors EMD GP-9 (Penn Central 7049), a bunch of railroad cars and a near miss on a 1948 107' long 195 ton ocean going tugboat, they are the nearest thing you can get to all of the above, built like a tank (sounds pretty much like one...

I haven't heard too much from Sarge since he tried to bring that Marine Corps Kawasaki back from CA a while back. I hope he's OK, and he should be in line for beatification, just tell the story to the President and he'll get Sarge cannonized. I...

Gentlemen:
Please accept my apologies on the error as to engine size, the mistake was mine. but in any case the vehicle was overpowered compared to the M38A (75 HP, I believe), the M422A1 (50 HP), and the suspension combined with the powerplant made the truck...

Kochevnik:
I would say you might make it with a gooseneck trailer on either a M35 series tractor, but you would be safer with a 5 ton tractor in either case for braking and weight distribution. The deuce might actually make it if you used the correct military drawbar and...

Army Ed:
Sounds like the ground connections are bad and/or the starter relay and solenoids are worn. Chances are you fellows are starting them a lot more times daily then we do with our older M35s, and yet you are getting the same illnesses our trucks have. I...

How about DUKW's? Frequently they are used by tour companies, no doubt with a CDL equipped driver ( and I presume STCW licensed Master), but they are but little different from the deuce except for the boat hull.;-)
Just curious. Also we should consider getting...

Say what you will, the M151A1 was an inherently bad design with its coil spring suspension, no travel limiters on the suspension and over engined with the Ford 6 cylinder.
This is why Uncle's lawyers ordered them cut, and later crushed when too many people welded...

Just consider what the old boy wants.... The plow and frame are probably adaptable to a deuce, the dump bed's scrap, and WWII Studebakers.... probably the russians loved Studebakers... Also compare to a take out deuce engine or one in the can, how do the numbers...

BRILLIANT!
Where can we come up with a splitter and two diverter valves for this critter, plus get another speed or two on the fan? Also, where can we find the hook up sheet metal that goes on the drivers side defroster hole above the side vent...

My deuce, "Saddam's Nightmare" is currently in the cold start limbo, but I have it pinned down to either the starter solenoid (on the starter itself) and/or the starter relay. It will start as 32*F and above, it won't usually even crank at 31*F and below. The...

Gentlemen:
Your discussion about building a new WWII jeep is not without precedent, and you could title it in many states as it would be no different then a kit car. Back before the
2003 or 2008 Centennial of the Ford Motor Company's birth...
