Next time I visit my parents I am going to hit him up on the dolly, he is also supposed to have a half track some where on the property. In a couple of months I will have better photos.

If this is the one off 412 in the salvage yard he wants $600 for it. The engine is there but only barely, now water pump or fan assembly. But it does have a tailgate and free turning generator. I wouldn't give him more than $200 max.

We just got our horn working yesterday on the wrecker, it was real loud with one working then the other one kicked in, hard to believe how loud it actually is!

Any idea of how much weight is on the lunnette with out a load on the dolly. I may be able to get this dolly for a couple of hundred dollars, but can I mount it on the pintal hitch on my Armada, it's going to be a lot lower than the foot is going to match up with, I could use a jack if the...
Can anyone tell which dolly this is? Even era would be a help, post WWII? It only has one set of tandem wheels with what looks like a landing leg with two solid metal wheels. I would like to know about how much weight is on the hitch without a load on the dolly, it looks like it would be tough...
Jeff:
I used the email address above and my email came back undeliverable? I will try again.
As for the lettering on a wrecker, what size is most of it, I have a 1/2 and one inch stenciler, I just need to find some oil board to start practicing on!

The prices on the two seem all over the scale! Prior to my getting my wrecker, Memphis Equip. and other commercial folks would push the cost of an 816 up to $14K, but last week I saw one in AL sale for $4 grand. From what I have seen both the 816 & 819 sale pretty close to the same, the...
It is time to start restoration on the M543A2 built in 1966, what was it's original color. hopefully a simigloss and I am assuming white letters and stars? Anyone have any photos of the wrecker in Vietnam or Europe?
Thanks,
James G.
Welcome Mark, I just got a M543A2 wrecker myself with the same intentions, let me know if you find the plates for the cab, mine have all been painted over a couple of times.

You are right on the power washers around here, I passed up a good one three years ago at cost, I didn't need it then, only been in MVs for the last year and one half or so!!!

I got the three lots that were not all new tires, I guess about 70% were newish looking, but I only spent on the average $75 for six tires, still way better than any other deal I have seen around here by a long shot! I was expecting the other lots to go for less but they went to over $200...
I am high bidder on three lots of 11X20 ndts down in Texarkana, anyone else driving down that way through Arkansas? Could split some gas money? Out of the 18 tires looks like 12-13 are near new, plenty to reshoe the 5 ton and for $20 and change a piece hard to pass up. They had several lots...
RE: Welcome
Jess/Lloyd:
I am originally from the Greenville, MS area you should take a ride around the backroads in the Mississippi delta for old tractors. I haven't been out looking for several years but you could find old tractors, combinds and cotton pickers as well as MVs in the tree...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Convoy Lights
I would like to put a ring mount on my M543A2 would I use a M49? What is a ball park price for a complete unit?
