RE: Re: RE: Home grown tow bar
Wow...Like everyone else said. If I had just seen the last pick I would have thought that is was the cast piece. Espically after you make it OD...
What method of welding did you use? Arc? Gas? TIG, etc?
Didn't you need to like have it done and finnished before the end of November??? I'm glad that your friend has been understanding...nothing worse than working on a project and having to move it in the middle because someone wants it gone.
Truck is looking good! Keep up the work and keep us...
The M151 requires the choke to be out about a 1/4 inch even when warm...I don't know why this is,but that is the way everyone I've ever played with has been. It seems weired...but for a 151 it's normal.

That is the beautiful sound of a diesel motor....It has been know to make some gear heads swoon with pride.... :)
RE: Won today, unofficially
I think it could be made to run...I don't see anything in the pics that makes me think it wasn't driven to that spot. Probly dead bats by now.
RE: Washing the duece?
A medium to soft nylon bristled brush on a pole, a bucket of soap and water. Power washer is ok as long as you have a fan spray nozzle.
RE: last pics i found
This is just my HO....but for me the 3 color nato cammo paint job just doesn't look right on the M880s....To me it looks out of place somehow.
Don't get me wrong it's a good paint job and who ever did the cammo did a nice job...just looks wrong to me... :)
Sure I can fix it....slap a little paint here and there a few tires and she's as good as new.
Going to need three rolls of duct tape.
Man in blue bibs: "I'm going to convert it into a feed spreader"
White Oak is what you want to use. It is the strongest and toughest. Why do you think they made barrels out of it? It is also what the Army used on the trucks.
RE: Re: RE: GL paint marker remover?
goof-off may take the fiber tape stuff off. When I was a computer tech I had access to a product called Rubber Restorer. It was used on the rollers on printers...anyway some of that stuff would take any gummy substance right off....but now I don't have...
You don't want CARC paint....nasty bad stuff.....what you want is the CARC substitute paint that is out there. The best IMHO is Gillispie paint and you can get it at Rapco and Army Jeep Parts. They have the CARC colors so tuch up and matching will be easy.
Wow look at how much that paint faded....The M880s were painted before CARC came out. One of the minor reasons to shift to CARC was the fade that the paint gave back then. The major reason was the paint on MVs at that time would absorb chemicals and there for could not be DECONed properly...
bubba I don't think he was looking to sell it, but rather looking for someone to do the restoration of it. Not sure if you were showing and interest in purchase or in helping him fix it up.
Gimp...yeah what Crash said.
Laminate glass as you know is two pieces of glass laminated together with a clear plastic sheet in the middle. If the glass breaks it keeps the glass from seperating and therefor keeps you safe.
Tempered glass is glass that has been tempered. This process allows...
Don't worry about it unless you really think you need it. What happened with mine I replaced it with a new one that I got at a show is that the first really warm day and I was sweating a bit I didn't have any slippage in fact the wheel got a bit sticky!
Well I'm going to try to get to the show...I haven't be able to go for like ever because of other conflicts, but this year things are looking promising. I did like the first six or seven years including the very first show that was in the town on main street and it was me and about 10 other...
