Not an expert but if you mean that the cooling fan does not spin free with the engine off that is correct. Several things have to happen to force the fan clutch to disengage. The power steering pump supplies the pressure and the temp switch has to call for it. The default is engaged...
I'm interested in doing something because this happened to me. I was helping the grandson down from the cab and his foot hit the brake handle. Rolled 3 foot down to the block next to my building and stopped. Scared the crap out of me. It would be nice if there were something similar to the...
Tnriverjet still working on it. Trying to mount it in an aluminum box and then mount it to the radio shelf. Also trying to install a new steering wheel. So I'm bouncing back and forth. I'll post some pics when completed. Thanks,
Welcome aboard!! I live just outside of Jefferson City. I own a 923A1 and love it. Run it in the Memorial Day and Homecoming parades in Columbia. Hope to see you. Also with the MVPA Chapter in Jefferson City.
Welcome to the site. I live just east of Jefferson City, MO. I have a 1970 M35A2 that I have had for about 5 years and I love it. It's amazing how many people will stop you and want to relive an experience that they had driving a Deuce. Congrats and good luck!!
I picked my M998 up in New Jersey. I believe it came from Fort Dix. I had to pick it up from Flynn's Towing and it was not running and parked in the back of the lot. They had to move a bunch of equipment and then tow it out of the lot. Once out of the lot it was up to me to load it. They...
98G I took the notarized re-assignment letter and SF-97 to the DOR in Jefferson City and the lady showed me on the computer that Missouri will not accept re-assignments on SF-97's. Then told me that I would have to have the name changed from IP to mine for it to go through. Like you said it...
In Missouri they will not accept the SF-97 with a re-assignment letter. Like Jwade was saying they would if GP was a registered Dealer in the state then there is a form that they would submit with the SF-97. Like everyone says nothing is consistent. Back to the drawing board.
I'm not sure of the details but some of the guys with the chapter of the MVPA that I'm in knew him pretty good and the last meeting had said that Dean's kids had put him in a nursing home. If anyone is interested I can find out more.
It sure does. Although I like the washer idea, it's quick and easy. The TM's show using a piece of string from the inside of the front tire to the outside of the rear tire. Then give a distance between the string and the outside rear of the rear tire as 0-180+/-3mm. Not sure what that means...
Not to steal your thread but has anyone aligned the rear axle? Mine is way out and runs down the road dog-legged. I've read thru the TM's but not sure how to align the back axle. It show the procedure for toe-in/toe-out and a procedure for alignment with front tires but doesn't make sense to...
Jwade I received my SF-97 a while back and a re-assignment letter from GovPlanet. It indicates that the owner is IronPlanet. In Missouri they will accept an SF-97 but won't accept the re-assignment. Will DLA accept the SF-97 with the IronPlanet RA paper and generate a new SF-97 with my name...
I just installed a new to me top and I too have a gap at the front and top of the glass and top. My problem is that the gasket between the windshield and top needs to be drawn tighter. I was going to wait till it got a little bit warmer. Just my thought.
You have a great point there. My dad always said, "If it ain't broke don't fix it". The ground wire update is an easy fix and you can make it up yourself. I think Retired War Horses had a write-up and someone had a webpage that had pics and everything. I replaced the windshield washer and...
Kfrosty I know what you mean. You try to resolve the problem before it becomes one and it still bites you. Hopefully we can work the bugs out of these things given time and money! They are still 20 to 30 year old vehicles that have probably sat most of their lives (kinda sounds like me)...
I would love to know what you find out. It seems to be to common problem. I think a lot of times it's overlooked until you pull the battery cable and then you notice the small spark. Again in my case if I disconnect the leads to the voltage regulator and then reconnect the batteries I lose...
Kfrosty I've not let any smoke out of mine yet. I did the 200 amp upgrade and I have the same draw with the switch off. I pulled the regulator and did not have the draw. They sent me another regulator and it still has a small draw. I thought is was the diodes bad, but after reading your...
I bought a 200 amp alt for a replacement on a hmmwv and mine does the same thing. I called the supplier back and he sent me a known good regulator. I replaced it and still have the same problem. Someone on the site said that he had the same thing and it was some of the diodes were bad. I...
