Your truck has to meet the original manufacturers safety equipment. If your truck originally has no running lights, then they cannot make you put them on. Thats the way it works... but some mechanics have power (and money) trips and will not let it pass unless it meets THEIR made up standards...

How do you tell when a water separator is 'full'? Most of the water filters I have seen are solid with no indicators. Oil can get wicked hot before it will burn... so other than having a huge turkey fryer it seems safe from a blow you up and kill you point of view. Plus the extra complexity...

How do you know when the water separator filters are 'full'? Regular filters can be monitored with pressure gauges... but water separators??

I thought of immersion heaters.. I see them at WWII Events but they are very hands on devices. I am going to keep looking for an electrical element and thermostat.... the barrel blankets are to much $$$ and I know that someone has to have done this before.

The 275 gallon steel reinforced plastic totes are all over.. I am going to call about 2 of them tomorrow. I agree that simply pumping oil to my container is the best way to go.. I have a trailer that will fit 1 (275gal x 8lbs/gal = 2200lbs) and a hoist that will do a ton.. so moving a tote...

PA has not given me any hassles... they have antique and classic plates and lifetime registration and and no inspections for either. I had to get a title for for my 43 CCKW and it was painless (expensive and took some time.. but was painless).
