I really don't want to get into the 'free oil' stuff because as mentioned, but could easily cost more to filter the mud, dead mice etc than simply pay a decent price and get good oil (well.. better).
I looked into water testers and they run $200... I was hoping to find a cheap way to get a...
I kinda figured I might have to pay for a barrel, also.... and my ad did say I needed the barrel.
I only made an offer (and I did say it was negotiable) and I have two others I have yet to call.
I can see paying $1 a gallon... I know that I am getting a deal at the price.
In 2 months I...
I put an ad on Craigslist to buy used motor oil.. 55gallon min.
I got 3 hits right away for 50, 55, and 160 gallons. I offered the guy with 3 55gallon drums $0.50 gallon ($28 a barrel) which I consider a fair price.
So far no reply.
To low?
I have no problem paying for WMO as long as its...
The hydro lock is not specific to water/coolant, just any large amount of fluid that would have leaked from the injectors and pooled into the combustion chamber.
You can hydrolock your engine with pure diesel (remember diesel is a liquid.. but when finely misted it will burn).
Water in the...
If you have the proper air cleaner I would go with the 28AV11. Its a civvy carb, so that means that parts are widely available. The cast iron carb was military only, and parts/rebuild kits can be a bugger to find.
Unless you take your truck off road you will not encounter the issued that lead...
Most of the chemicals in thinners are the exact same chemicals in the cleaning agents people dump in their tanks to clean out the fuel system.
It all depends on the ratio. I would not go more than a few % and only on a mostly full tank.
I have finished the decals for the CCKW engine. Attached is a screen shot of the decals (not to size... they are whatever the thumbnail viewer displayed them as).
These will be actual water slip decals (unless the printer has any reservations about such large decals).
More info is at...

My oil is clean, from my own cars... and I really don't have a lot of it (maybe 10 gallons saved up).
So I bought three sock filters (50,10,1 micron) and two 5 gallon buckets (bought new so would not have to worry about cleaning them).
Pics are self explanatory. The socks hole about 2...
Found one.
The public health law manual - Google Books
I have not read the cited case... but it appears that they need a warrant for administrative searched unless exigent circumstances are noted. There is one caveat... the truck was parked in his private driveway, not on a public street, so...
As I posted, you refuse to let them dip your tank you will be cited. Now if you can convince the judge that they had no legal reason to dip your tank then you are golden.
I have only read that one case from Illinois, but the logic of the appellete court in that situation was pretty clear...
I just wanted to update this... this year at the Aberdeen show there was a 'Super DUKW'. Thing had to be 10ft tall to the gunwales and 40 ft long. I have pics and will get them off the camera tonight.

I have a Lincoln MIG I picked up from Lowes.. not sure the model but its a standard MIG GMAW/FCAW.
If I had to do it all over again I would pick of the Harbor Freight TIG welder. DON'T LAUGH... these units get HIGH PRAISE from many people.... there are some tool snobs that will never use...
I just got back and had a great time. The display vehicles were great and I saw a lot of parts that are going to be put on the 'get them next year list'.
Although most of my $$$ went to jeep parts, I did score a used cargo cover and a budd wrench for Milla the M35a2.
Yeager (my yellow lab)...
I just got my Registration, weight class sticker and title today. Everything is correct and proper.
While I did have to call DLA and 2 chats with GL, the entire process was as smooth as it it could have been. I may have spent 30 min on the phone and in chat sessions to Sheppard the...
When you say Willys do you mean MBT or M100 or what?
I know of no WWII 1/4ton trailer that was a generator, the Ben Hur 1 ton trailer DID have a dedicated generator model... and THAT would be worth a pretty penny. Lots of PE-95s looking for a home.
If its not a WWII model then I have no...
