Reviving the 83 ford with LDS 5 ton drive line

You gotta love it. It takes a lot of pluck to do something like that! [thumbzup]

RPM vs Speed vs Tire size

Same truck, different tires. Garmin verified at indicated 2600rpm. 900-20 55mph 1100-20 64mph 14.5-20 64mph 395-20 72mph These are top speeds reached. I do not drive around at 72+ mph with the largest tires. I do spend a lot of it running 55-65. My deuce trucks seem happiest running 43"...

This Allison MT643 was bolted to a Detroit in a Canadian military truck. Likely would fit behind a multifuel.

    2600mile recovery :)

Instead of a short wheelbase jeep try it in a tractor pulling a trailer. The two are never in sink from one expansion joint to the next.

    2600mile recovery :)

Last time I drove I70 from Indy to the Ohio line it nearly knocked the truck apart. I80 across Iowa was undriveable, like a washboard. They must have had the most sway-backed concrete forms ever. I dropped south and picked up US36, a great highway. Can anyone update the condition of these...

    In cab heater install

That was several years back and a 976 mile trip where even some interstates were partially closed. Have never had any problems from this trip. I could not cut a hole in the cardboard as I had to stop several times adjusting the size of coverage to get the temp to 180. I had even too little open...

    Deuce center console

It's not in the way as much as the photo implies. It's sturdy, lockable, paintable, and got plenty of room inside.

    power steering not working

I have bought several M35's from GL that were equipped with air assist steering. One of them had the air shut off valve closed on the firewall. After turning it on I discovered the inline air regulator for the steering assist was leaking badly. I figure they thought it was easier to shut the air...
