Well.... It's a good news, bad news deal. The bad news is far more extreme than the good.
The batteries are just fine. Yay!
Actually I don't currently care.
The bad news, is some wiring burned up.
The second I opened the side doors I could smell burned/hot electrical. I flat out know...
Ok, I'll add that to the list. I've got a Noco in there, and it claimed the batteries were fine/full, but what a charger sees, and what a batt can output are sometimes not the same thing. It did sound happy kicking over on the dead crank though.
I'll preface this with the fact I haven't looked in the TM's yet. I'll likely be doing that rather than twiddling my thumbs at work tomorrow. No emergency, so no urgent need.
I went out to start the 802a today. Hasn't run in a while, so I thought I'd put some fuel additives, and winter...
You may well run in to a headache if you put that tank on a trailer... You're going to have a significant amount of change in tongue weight between full and empty, unless it's centered. You also have the delightfull result of fluid sloshing if it isn't full or empty. You'd be at 1100# of fuel...
If you're looking at something like what Country posted, go check McMaster Carr. Search for "Rod End". They carry loads of options, and not terrible pricing.
I can't aggree more... I used to do commercial power distro for special events. We played around making spider boxes for a while, and the reality is, you can do far better buying a unit that's ready to go. The price sucks to be sure, but by the time you buy the parts, and cobble something...
Any time I question changing oil in a new to me machine, I look at what I paid... A few quarts of the most expensive oil you can buy is usually a lot cheaper than having an issue becuse you didn't change it.
I am quite sure the advise to pull the housing is spot on. That said, you're not going to get it done in 20 minutes, because you haven't done it before. After you do it a time or ten, I'm guessing 20 minutes is probably right. Plan on an hour so you can do it carefully. Having had to loosen...
The well nut on the unit I bought made it half way across the county to me, sat and ran without leaking perfectly. I managed to flex the fuel line just a little while taking the batteries out to look around, and it started leaking after that.
I imagine it's more an issue of when, rather than...
With an 803, I wouldn't think you'd have an issue with hot water. My 802 will handle the 5500 watt water heater, and pump at the same time plus the odd lighting loads. AC of course would be a priority, but you could cycle in the hot water heater now and again if desired I imagine.
WWRD99 -...
And... It's done, done. (almost)
Done as in sitting there, tested and working.
Almost as in I'd like to move it a little further back so it will be sheltered under the deck overhang in the back, but doing so would be a challenge... Also the batteries are probably done... Still ok, but just...
Also, keep in mind what movement you may see when (not so much if) a tire goes flat. A really narrow trailer with a high center of mass might be an issue if if sags too much due to air loss.
I have yet to make my 802a mobile. It's on the list, but for now it's just via pallet forks on a tractor.
Same here. 1/4" galvanized hardware cloth. Self tappers with washers for the big bottom opening. Check around in there before you drive the screws. I had a fuel line in the area that shouldn't have been.
Battery holes I placed the mesh inside under the trays, and the battery holds it down...
Finally back to the 802...
Bonding switch is in now.
It's some Mil-spec washdown rated switch.
I have not had the opportunity to make the brass tags for Bond and Float, so paint marker will have to do until I can run that project at work.
Exterior ground lug is just above it. I should...
Only one i saw that might be plausible in the 50 amp range was this:

Beyond finding it I didn't go any further to look in to fit, or...
It either came via Amazon, or Zoro, I don't recall which. Possibly even Ebay. Regardless, if you search for the catalog number on the photo of the tag on the yellow box above, it'll show up. It's a complete assembly from Hubbel that includes the outlet.
I'm facing the same issue with my 802a. I tried loosening the muffler mounts to see if I had any play, but no such luck. Haven't come up with a solution, but also haven't tried very hard... Only thing I can think of to center it now is to break all the mounts loose from the base skid, and see...
