Fixed my winshield washer issue and put new blades on. Washer suction hose was bulged where it attached to the wiper motor from all these years attached and was sucking air and not the solvent from the reservoir. Cut one inch of hose off, reattached hose and it shot solvent on the windshield...
What!? Nobody at all voted for my M929A2 dump truck still (again) hard at work? Must be the desert tan paint out of place in them woods. This rig has a lot of my time and funds sunk into her and she really shows her appreciation by working so hard without even a hiccup. Her owner is not some big...
Sorry. Our state (Ohio) puts a sticker on your liscense plate with the county number. Each county has a designated number going in alphabetically order. So my county is #7. Thought it might bring out some pride in my county (even though the roads are horrible!).
Thats how I always looked at it with my gas engines, but wondered if diesels were needing to run longer since I see so many 18 wheelers left idling and thanks for reminder on oil changes. Is it every 3000 miles if short runs and dusty environment? I rarely see 50 mph.
Got my backup alarm and lights mounted and wired. Got the 24v lights from gimpyrobb in early summer and the alarm from bay. The alarm is a multivoltage 12-48v Wolo model BA-107 (107dB). It cost $35. Got the transmission pressure switch from the same place as the alarm for less than $10. It is a...
Didn't get back to that hub yet as I spent last two days working on the 929. Did get this done yesterday morning. Made bridge plate match my county number and first letter of county name (Belmont).
You most likely hit the nail on the head on the frugality. Up til the last seven years I had been running such a tight budget that ten dollars would have been the difference in making the bills or not. Could be ingrained and now it's a subconcious thing. These diesels both are fuel sippers...
Ok. Nevermind. I was reading The HUlk's post, https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php%3F141220-M939-Stop-Switch-Questions&sa=U&ved=0CAgQFjACahUKEwjSxJzcyf7HAhXQSZIKHS-IDio&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNGZWmbpSQ7a- MJ83VyflMJ6_zoqaw
and he explained using the...
Ok, I spent a lot of time looking on here, and in TMs yesterday and found this chart pictured and thought I could just hook to post C, wire 22. Just ran a jumper to verify by connecting terminal C to terminal F and the brake lights were lit but no signal. I don't want to start cutting insulation...
Thank you. I have kept the turbo issue in mind as I have a vw turbo and dealership mechanic told me about that as I was there getting an oil filter one day. I, also considered just easy driving enough to cool the turbo, rather than just idling, when feasable.
Ok. From what you all have said, condensation is my enemy and it's not a diesel specific issue, right? So if it's already a warm engine it is fine, but a bad thing to do to a cold engine. Using that theory, I suppose I shouldn't short-run cold gasoline engines either. Thank you all. I guess I...
I hope I am asking this in the right forum but I have two MVs this question pertains to. I have never owned a diesel engine and within the last four months, I am an owner of two. I hate to hear an engine sit idling needlessly and at low oil pressure, so I have always shut gas engines off even if...
I think you are both correct. I think I was only looking at the outer. I will pull the snapring tomorrow and check the inner gear. Thank you both for pointing this out for me. At least since getting that extra snap ring out it isn't engaging the hup partially anymore when I drive it, but that...
Well, I did open hub back up to check that and that inner gear is flat on both sides. Completely reversible. All the civy hubs I've ever been into had a recessed area that faced outward, but then again, I've never owned a truck with a Dana 60.
