If its an A2, how do you control the air pressure? My CTIS puts it where I figure it should be. Thinking its 45 psi. Agree with lower speed than it's capable. I get nervous when mine hits 50 mph. If any failure it's game over for me or anyone in her path!
Yeah, the ctis airs them up and maintains them. When my truck got delivered it had a very low tire and it was full by the time I looked back at it after getting the truck in my driveway. Hasnt went low since.
Got my fire extinguisher inspected and tagged so it is up to date, per DOT regs. Finally got USDOT and PUCO numbers. Will be stencilling them on within the next couple days and then truck will be ready for DOT inspection.
I agree too with the A2 series. Nice to know that if you pick up a nail...
One day to go and still no votes for a Combat Engineer Squad Vehicle? I gotta say you SS members are who got this thing road ready. If not for this site and everyone's eagerness to share knowledge, I wouldn't have even bid on her! Can't say thanks for the votes, but sure can say thanks for the help!
Thought I was gonna have to replace mine as it had no washer solvent pumping. Have two old civy chevy trucks and raised all three hoods to see similarities and the 86 has no pump in the wiper motor but has a pump in the reservoir. The 78 had the same wiper motor with the pump built in. My CUCV...
Dont use that switch in your transmission. The one I installed fried today (already) only putting 12v through it. Junk! I will be searching for a better one this evening.
Forgot to mention the comfort upgrades as well as led license plate light/mount. 12v accessory plugs with usb for charging cell phone and overhead light. All blackout lights are working now as well. This things an antique, as I can get historical plates if I didn't want to work it!
I'm still tied for last place. At least the M929A2 dump truck isn't alone. Here's a few more pics in case hesitant voters might think she don't work for her living.
She even has all the safety equipment attached (first aid kit, fire extinguishers, back up lights, back up alarm, warning...
Maybe not but a cop or dot officer will still make things ugly for me until I go through court. I ordered the Stanadyne so both the CUCV and my 5 ton (and the law) will be happy. So glad there was no red fuel in the 5 ton. It came direct through GP so no atf added either. It's commercial so...
That chart is awesome! Downloaded that to have handy when I get that 24770 wix base so I can get a 3 micron filter. I am on dirt roads more than pavement.
Also, while on fuel subject, the PO said he puts atf in the fuel tank. After reading a long drawn out thread on the dye, I have decided to stop that. Going to get the Stanadyne performance all season. Anyone know about how long until that dye is no longer visible in the fuel?
It is in fact a brand new tank and fuel pump, but I should really pickup a better one. What part number is your 3 micron? Will I have priming issues or is it just an r & r job? New to diesels so bear with my ignorance.
