WM why so negative on the CUCv family?
IT's a GREAT "Beginner" truck, easy to work on, parts are readily available, most repairs don't require special or HEAVY DUTY tools...
As far as "electrical issues" what 25 year old vehicle doesn't have "electrical issues"?
Don't really understand the...
Thanks Joe and Bruce.
Bruce, I'm dealing with a "NO START" on 09.
I did the doghead conversion, so the relay is good. I replaced, AGAIN, because I bought two when I did the first update. I have power to all systems but no crank, no relay activation when I turn to start position.
I am tracing the...
Nice add!!!
I've suffered through the "out of room" for stuff syndrome.
I have even considered removing the rear seat, but usually just put the extras in somebody else vehicle or leave it behind.
I like the removable feature and bringing back to stock option.
I'm battling a starting issue on my 09 and need some help reading the wiring diagram.
I am tracing PPL/WHT wire from starter relay under dash to ????? the diagram shows it going into a BLOCK??? CONNECTOR
or maybe the connection through the firewall????
What the heck is the thing in the diagram...
The fuses plug into brass fittings...... brass doesn't rust.....
Get some ZEP electic aerosol spray and soak the fuse block.
FIRST unhook all power sources in truck......
Use an old toothbrush and clean all connections for fuses.
Last resort is replacing fuseblock, LOTS of work!!!! vehicle...
Nice truck!!!
What year is that?
Interesting conversion as well, curious why that would of been done, most military vehicles now running on diesel, JP8,easier to carry logistically speaking.
Welcome to the site!
HOLY COW!!!!!.....
How did that escape the "pickers" on the lot???????
I just bought a M1009 from GL that showed a cool strobe light in cab in auction pictures. When I picked it up the strobe was GONE, along front tow hooks..... and they let a $2500 item go!????????
I'm gonna be a "bubble" buster, but have you downloaded the TM's and looked at the pictures????
They are VERY clear!!! will answer all of your questions about the make-up of the locking hubs.
As far as just replacing the caps, kinda pointless, IMHO, the caps don't really do anything put allow...
What are your chances of doing load test on batteries? Only way to determine good or bad condition. You might spend a day charging a battery that has no cranking capacity..... I just replaced battery in Tundra.... same symptoms. fine one day no go the next. It was 6 years old, guess I got my...
last resort is dealership. use the -20P or -34P to get the gm part number for the items.
Joe, I didn't read it as want ad, just someone looking for parts source.......
it's his first post, and he obviously didn't do a search for the other 100+ threads on the subject.
If he knows what part...
No reasonable explanation for transmission to shift harder after changing flexplate. The flexplate just transfers engine rotation to torque converter. Unless the flexplate was so trashed that it wasn't allowing engine to spin, not realistic....
New details help
Kwhopper, good to know about the core charge. I was looking at site and didn't push order. I actually didn't realize there is a difference between the "c" code and "j" code injector pumps.... I thought the "c" and "j" distinction was purely ther gooberment getting around...
PMCS PMCS AND PMCS.
It's the best way to learn about the vehicle and discover "hidden" faults that will appear at midnite on a deserted road 50 miles from nowhere.
It will take you a couple of hours that will be worth days in return.
It will also give you a reference point for the vehicle...
NOT a GREAT DEAL
I just visited the site, price is different AND they DO charge a core FEE...
I've been considering getting a spare, but mine are curently doing the job, don't want to send in a semi-functioning pump in just for the heck of it....
I need to buy a couple scrapper motors for the...
Niferous,
I'm in Kingwood, maybe have some time this weekend if you need another pair of hands on this project. I'm finishing another project, I hope, but will see how things go. IM me if you think you need help.
