Don't know about aerosol cans, but I use a distributor in Cherry Hill NJ called Aerocoat Source. Not sure if they will sell to a non business.
Mil-Spray is the only supplier that I know of that sold aerosol cans of CARC.
Check the parking brake cables close to the handles. When the trailers get moved around with fork trucks the cables get smashed between the frame and forks causing the brakes to stick on.
I almost had to cut the parking brake cable on one side of mine until I played around with some PB Blaster...
M116a3 weighs 800 lbs per the TM
M101a3 weighs 1340 lbs per the TM.
By my fuzzy math that means that the bed weighs 540 lbs.
As for the weight of the M116 flat bed, I ain't got a clue.
I have an old Radio Shack handheld acoustic sound level meter (aka dB meter).
My MEP-003 emits 92dB @ 25' when warmed up sitting in my driveway. When I place it inside of the acoustic shed housing I built onto my storage shed the sound level drops to less than 70dB.
The military trailer...
I've made this statement before, and I promise this will be the last time.
The magnetic tow lights sold by Harbor Freight are not wired correctly.
You will need to take the bottom off the lights and fix the wiring for the correct light sequence.
I have purchased two sets and both sets...
The white primer is a waterborne lead and chromate free primer. The specification is Mil-Prf-53022. BTW, it's junk.
My company extensively tested the lead and chromate free primer with the first version of the Mil-Dtl-64159 water dispersible CARC and found that if you did not apply the CARC to...
If you purchase from Government Liquidation, GL will issue a Florida title. I think there are 6 or 7 states that won't accept a SF-97, and Virginia is one of them.
I chatted with Heidi @ GL this afternoon about getting some SF-97's processed and asked if there was any way to get a title...
Kyle,
The data plate that I have for the M105a2 listed the on road load rating of 4500 lbs. Add that weight to the 2750 lbs for bare trailer and you have exceeded the weight that most states will allow you to tow a trailer without brakes.
Most states require service brakes on trailers...
The Allison 1000 series automatics wouldn't live for a week in a truck weighing 23,000 lbs.
The M923 and M925 use the MT654 transmission.
The new replacement would be the MD3500 or 4500 series unit. If you have a spare $22k sitting around that's the starting price with options adding to that...
As soon as you purchase the lights, verify that they are wired correctly.
I purchased two sets from them that wern't wired correct.
Also, the magnets are rather weak. I lost one on a recovery from Jacksonville Fl. I recently purchased a set of lights made in the USA, bent some stainless...
I don't quite know what to say about your comment, but my 4runner is certified to tow up to 5000 lbs.
The M105a3 having surge brakes stops without issues.
The reason that I don't use the 4runner often to tow the trailer has noting to do with safety, but that I have other vehicles that I...
TM 9-2610-200-24 is listed as the manual for working on pnuematic tires.
I attempted pulling this manual up but it wasn't found either.
edited. If you search LOGSA using a text search for "TIRE" the TM shows up close to the bottom of the page. All 10mb of it.
LOGSA does not list an -20 manual for the M35A3.
There are only 4 TM's for the A3 truck listed, and I have all 4.
Let me know what you need and if it can be e-mailed, I'll send it to you.
Again, as stated above, the brakes are air over hydraulic. The air part is just like the vacuum assisted brakes on your car or gasoline engined truck.
Release the parking brake beside the drivers seat, place the transmission in neutral, and off the tow truck goes once hooked up.
Hey jas67,
Don't overlook the M105a3 trailers.
The weigh a little less than the M105a2 but unlike the a2 the A3 uses surge brakes.
I don't make a habit of pulling my A3 with my Toyota 4runner, but I have moved them 250 miles with the 4runner without problems.
I'd like to find a couple of...
If I were looking for another military surplus trailer, I would purchase the M101A3 over the M101A2.
The A3 version has a 4" frame verses the 3" frame used on the A2. The A3 also has 6 spring leaves verses the A2 only having 5.
The bed on both the A2 and A3 is 100" long per TM...
OK, I'll bite.
Why wouldn't your old non-hvlp spraygun work for a three color paint job?
The only reason that HVLP and gravity feed sprayguns exist is due to a federal requirement to increase transfer effiency to reduce VOC's.
If you are looking at a cheap throw-away gun, get one of the...
The bolster trailer uses the same tire/wheel combination as the M1061a1.
As for the air chamber, the TM lists A298320 as the part number and the CAGE code is listed to Winger Mfg. 641-683-1855
