I was told that our EH&S folks pulled all the Simple Green cleaner that we have been using just before Christmas. We use the concentrated version not the ready to apply product.
I have been a little busy with just getting back to work (two weeks off for Christmas break) and attempting to get...
You indicated that you installed new batteries but that the truck just quite won't start.
Are you getting white smoke out of the exhaust? Is the engine cranking slow, or does the engine speed pick-up the longer you crank?
If the engine is cranking slow, try cranking it with the compression...
It's not cost effective to change over to disc brakes using the M101a2 or a3 axles.
You would also need to change the master cylinder as the stroke of the factory cylinder is not great enough to work for disc brakes.
If you are insistant in changing to disc brakes, purchase an after market...
While Uncle Sam ordered that the Allison automatic transmissions be capeable of being run on motor oil, if you talk with an Allison dealer, Allison strongly recommends their synthetic transmission fluid.
Motor oil does not have the same lubrication properties on the friction materials as does...
If you look at picture 1 + 2 of this http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/44121-55mph-detonation.html#post492275 thread, you will see that the connecting rod appears to have made contact with something causing the lower portion of the rod to be bent.
I woould be interested in viewing the...
I love the look of that M920 and what was done to make it look meaner than it was when received from Uncle Sam.
My old 1983 armored tractor Freightliner looked very simular to the now configured M920, though then I only had a 475 hp Cummins and a 15 speed.
The major difference was that...
I think I called this back when you first posted pictures of the event.
The cylinder liner being steel is much stronger than the cast iron engine block.
I had a 582 cubic inch Chevy come apart at around 8,000 rpm. The only things salvagable were the water pump and one valve cover. The two...
Other than the lack of power steering, I don't see an issue of mounting a plow on the front of a Deuce.
Around here in Maryland, the majority of the MDOT trucks are single axle dumps. Lots of older single axle 1700-1800 series Internationals floating around with plows.
You need to use a...
Take it and the truck with the correct sized sockets back to HF and see if by using their air compressor it will break the lugs loose.
If it won't then they have you reason for return.
1/2" diameter air hose or larger is recommended with 90 psi of air pressure.
Driver’s side lugs are left hand thread. As stated pull towards the back of the truck if using a breaker bar, or just reverse directions from what you used for the passengers side.
I have a Snap-on 3/4" breaker bar...
First welcome to Steel Soldiers.
Next, you do realize that this post is almost a year old don't you.
Please read the requirements for new members. I understand that you are looking for work, but you need to follow our rules and get a feel for the place.
Oshkosh shows the latest version of the LVSR as being a 10X10.
On the 10X10 version, axles 1,2 4, and 5, are steer axles.

Soft brake pad material actually melts when the brakes are applied hard. The heat generated casues a soft brake pedal as the heat is transfered to componenets, i.e the brake shoe, and the wheel cylinder causing brake fluid to boil. Boiling brake fluid isn't quite the problem with DOT 5 silicone...
In most states you aren't required to have a CDL until the gross vehicle weight exceeds 26,001 pounds. A class B license is required if the GVW of the vehicle exceeds 26,001 lbs.
Can't speak for all states, but air brakes aren't an automatic qualifier for CDL.
I gave up my CDL a few years...
All of the LVS and LVSR (newest version) tractors provide power to the rear uints so that they are drive units for traction.
If you do a search for MK17 or MK48 units of which one is listed in the classified section you will see the drive shaft assemblies.
