This pic shows the springs in my current V30 civilian dually. They have been like this on all my duallies except my 77 K30 which had 1 more leaf in the auxillary helper pack.

    GL ads are back

I'm happy for the site owner to receive paid advertising. Running a site like this is not cheap. Do I tell anyone about any auction I will be bidding on? NEVER. Do I tell others about government auctions I won't be bidding on? Yes, privately. Most times I never tell people what I bought...

    4.10 or 3.73 ?

I've been running 3.73 gears in a handful of 4x4's going back over 30 years, most with 33" rubber. Most had T400, some were T350 and 4 speeds. Never any problems but, they were gassers. Four of them were 1 ton duallies. I ordered the 1977 K30 with 4.10's but went back to 3.73 after that.

    GMC DH9890A what is it?

They are GMC's and in the civilian world this shallow cab model was referred to as day cabs, or a "cracker box". The long frames, fifth wheel placement, and axle setup shown in the ad are definite non-civilian. Engines are V-8 Detroits.

    gooseneck hitch mounts? Pics?

I went to the local steel bar company and bought a 1"x10"x4' steel bar. I drilled a 1.25" hole at centered 24" and centered it at 4" front to back. This put ball near perfect over center axle. I unbolted/loosened the bed floor bolts, raised the bed a little, and slid this under the bed between...

Making your truck a tank, or converting your Deuce to a tracked vehicle

You might find more info on this setup in TM 9-801 or TM 10-1562. They used the single track on the rear also.

    Fort Lewis Recovery

The hangers for the brackets shown in your truck pics are common and not expensive. There are many different styles of the square mount hangers and a couple sizes of squares. Flaps & Hangers -- Fleet Oil and Truck Supply - Heavy Duty Truck Parts Items on all 3 pages.

Making your truck a tank, or converting your Deuce to a tracked vehicle

The track setup on this truck is neat, especially on the front.

    can anyone identify these tires

The tires are Firestones. Adelman's has some MV's with similar tread tires that are Generals also. The floors are rotted out of most of the Canada trucks there!
