My initial plan is to buy them locally since I have a few commercial truck tire shops in the area where I live as the area is a major transit hub. That being said if it proves cheaper to import I might jump right on that as well. But as to what is available I don't really know since I am unsure...
I just thought that thread pattern wasn't optimal since most people seem to want to migrate away from it?. But the tires doesn't have to look like the NDT/NDCC ones, what I am primarily "concerned" about is more up to date and not dated tires. And hopefully better on and off road abilities then...
I don't have a truck yet, but being the person I am I tend to prefer to have all the details etc worked out before I actually stand knee deep in it :)
I am hopefully looking at getting a M35A2 down the line but want to keep its stock 10 wheel configuration, but where does that put me wheel/tire...
Caliber,
Yours looks like the one I was describing in the first post. The one with the U shaped piece of metal that fits over the tabs both hiding them, as well as prevents turning them is what I am hopefully looking for.
like I said it looks like a piece of box metal that you use for a frame...
Porky:
Thanks for the suggestion and that is actually what I have been doing. Reading some of the thread in the Deuce and Deuce modding forums and reading up some of the issues others might be having or is experiencing so that I can learn from them and hopefully avoid that pitfall myself once I...
Goldneagle:
Thats actually not it. The one I am talking about looks like a piece of box metal, or a small I-beam cut off to form a kind of U shape upside down that fits on top of the 2 tabs, and has a "angled" bend in it. Not sure if that description helps and if not then I can try to draw it...
Steelandcanvas:
Sadly I dont have a truck yet. Being in europe they are actually not the easiest to come by so I am really just planning ahead. And well shipping one over isn't going to be a sound finansial choice as far as I see it, since I assume it cant really fit in a regular shipping...
Well I plan to run WMO/WVO in combination with Diesel when I get one. But I just want the lock on there both as a matter of safety, but also as someone else mentioned to make sure noone might tamper with my fuel.
But yes I am aware there are several ways to get access to the tank, by simply...
Hi and sorry if this question has been asked before which I figure it has ;).
I have however tried to search for it without really get a lot wiser or closer to what I was looking for.
Previously when I looked for security advice on how to lock down a deuce I came across someone who had made a...
Jeepjake:
That lip at the centre of your adaptor, is that because its hubcentric?
And i take it hubcentric means that you can rest the wheel on the centre while you attach the nuts and its partially supported on the hub, while a nut centric is merely resting on the bolts and their tension, is...
The Danish Army etc. actually uses MAN trucks and IVECO's and they are regularly auctioned off when they are EOL'ed. No real GL procedure where I live, all the army vehicles that CAN be, is being auctioned off at a regular car auction. And while I don't mind the looks of the mans too much my...
I guess I wouldn't have to do a lot of mods in order to get a Deuce that would run at around 56 +/- sustained. But are those 395 (im assuming we are talking tirewidths yes?) only for singling out or are we still talking boogie duallies?. And would 395's adversely effect its offroad capabilities...
When I get a deuce I wouldn't mind it running a bit faster but there is a easy solution to that :P.
Where I live trucks are legally required to be governed for 49 MPH, but is "allowed" to run as fast as 55-56. Judging from the inputs in this thread I would just have to keep the truck stock or...
Otto, I am not too fond of the looks of the Unimogs. Hence why I am looking at Deuces instead :P. But yea I dont intend to do heavy duty ploughing with it. More like clearing a few small private roads and "estates" for a few bits of coin and carry a few other snowclearing machines on the bed of...
Otto,
I actually had thoughts simular to yours when I get a Deuce. But instead of a plough I intend to having a revolving "brush" installed instead and a snowguard. Means I get to the surface of the road and "brush" away all the snow and ice rather then potentially leave 1-2mm of snow/ice on...
I just wish I could find some pictures of the back of the Master switch, ie how many poles it got etc. But am I correct in assuming it is a "simple" on/off switch that just breaks/closes a circuit or is the master switch more "complicated" then that?
So judging on BoB's find a 10 amp keyed switch wired in either before or after the master switch should be sufficient. Or is there something I am forgetting?. Or does the master switch actually "take" 25 Amps ?. But in either case it seems like a switch from Cole H might be a cause of better...
I thought the master switch determined whether there was ANY or NO electrical current going through the vehicle, ie with the master switch off, you wouldn't even be able to turn on the lights etc.
But from what I can read it seems like the present push start button, actually activates a relay...
