    New Owner of a BMY 1988 M923A2

Seems like for whatever reason I run into lots of Deuce or 5 ton familiar people in Fairbanks, even at my university! People either have a Deuce or want one. Re: the M49A2C in Alaska I know where there's a bunch outside Petersburg, I had my introduction to driving a manual transmission in one...

    New Owner of a BMY 1988 M923A2

I forgot to add...My truck I'm hopefully picking up is also from California, as am I. Came from the Nat'l Guard unit in the same county I was born/grew up in, so it's special to me because of where it came from. Belongs to a fellow Steel Soldiers member who lives in my old hometown and the...

    New Owner of a BMY 1988 M923A2

Welcome to the site! I guess I posted on your other thread about registration not realizing it was the same! Welcome from another Alaska member. I'm in Fairbanks, where's Meadow Lakes? PM me if you ever want to get together, in a couple years I'll hopefully have an '84 M923A0 up here myself.

1600 miles in a M925A2 with my pregnant wife

Jbulach, I have literally wondered about trying to fit a car booster seat in a 939 cab myself! If I had kids heck yeah they'd be in that cab with me all the time. :driver:

    back-up camera

Interesting ideas! I like the backup camera idea myself, for backing in parking lots where just hearing CRUNCH doesn't quite cut it. But blind spots are also a good idea, along with the rear view. As for the 4th, I'd just love an in cab or dash cam view, would love to take some long road trips...

    New Owner of a BMY 1988 M923A2

Got pix? I've got an '84 M923A0 in my future myself. :driver: Wonderful trucks...basic but very functional! Love em. Hard to not love an M939 series 5 ton.

    Flea's M923A2

    She's beautiful!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Wes, I always enjoy reading your posts, since you drive yours so much! As someone who plans on driving mine I'm getting quite a bit, frankly going for the million miles the NHC250 is rated for, I'm always curious how things actually finally wear out on these!

    M923: mudding or not?

OK, just curious, I know I'm reviving this thread, but how often does everyone NORMALLY change the fluids (transmission, differentials, etc), under "normal" conditions? I'm curious and thought I'd ask here since my thought is take mine I'm getting mudding in the real nasty stuff right before...

M925 M925A2 dump bed hoist install

Definitely. These trucks will go anywhere and do anything, but you made yours even more so!

    flip a Deuce

I thought it was a hub flip or something myself. rofl

    flip a Deuce

3000 to buy it, would you really get that much for it in scrap $$$? I don't think a Deuce would be worth that, there was recently a discussion on one of the Facebook groups about a non runner M923A2...maybe worth like 1600 in scrap metal if dragged to the scrap yard, better to at least part it...

    M923A1 30,000mile OTR Report

Here again, this is fascinating, Wes! I'm an eventually to be M923A0 owner, and I intend on driving it that much myself, so seeing these well-used (they usually weren't by the military) is interesting to me...what will need repair/replace and after how many miles, etc.

WSUCougar's M925A1 Acquisition and Build Thread

Love this thread! I'm possibly picking up an M923 myself and would like to eventually restore it to all original, like yours..

New 6x6 owner in central Kansas

That's pretty rare as it is, just FYI! Looks like a pipeline truck. Not to tell you what to do with YOUR truck, but that could potentially be valuable to a collector as is, and then you could get a regular M35A2 and modify THAT instead. Not sure what kind of $$$ the one above you have is, but...
