Use a relay with a built in fuse. I think I hung mine on a stud that's already on the firewall in the bellhousing indentation. I think I looped the relay ground right to the stud point of attachment.
I forget what I used to trigger it but the IP wire would work. The heater has a built in...
Positive grounds are for the British and we know how that ended for them...
Is your truck 12 or 24 volts? I don't understand, both batts should read 12 volts and in series makes them 24 volts.
Really don't need a kit. Just get a relay with a pigtail. Go right off the battery with an inline fuse. Then use a wire that is hot when running to trigger it. The IP solenoid is right there.
Caps do nothing
Park is a function internal to the motor. If low is not working you'll have to see if it's the switch or motor.
I had a washer motor that would pump washer fluid anytime it was moving. I think the cam stuck on so once you hit the washer it would jam and ci tongue to clean the...
I think the only things that will illuminate that bulb is the proportioning valve and the parking brake.
I think there is a micro switch on the parking brake assembly which you can test with a meter to see if it's closing when the pedal is pushed down.
The prop valve has a switch in it as...
They all eventually crack. I wouldn't sweat it, have someone weld them up. Old inspection covers are becoming hard to find. I have two spares if you want to buy one. Of course I also need one for a 4L80 so spread the word...
Sliding it back is easiest and can be done cheap with a floor jack...
I'm guessing if your engine starts when manually activating the solenoid the issue is the car, wiring, or temp sender.
If you replaced the sender then the card is the onlu thing left.
I'd go through and replace all the glow plugs with the newer ACG60s, modify the wiring, and replace the card...
Yeah that or the plastic pivot point snaps off. They are pretty frail pieces. Knock on wood the aftermarket ones have held up on both trucks.
Some of the bulbs on the fullsize can come out if you slide your meat hook up under the dash. I just pulled the cluster out of an S10 beater project. You...
Welcome to nearly 40 year old GM electronics.
Word of wisdom, double check that your LED lights up before putting it back together. They are polarity sensitive. I always forget to 😑
I believe there is an old 70's style shift indicator which has a different font then the 80's style. 80's style has 3 and 4 speed. They are all essentially the same construction but look and function differently.
I've had two from LMC and they work fine. Probably the rare instance an...
I used some vintage F350 snow fighter whatever rims. 16.5 with some crazy 10" wide stance. One of the only trucks with that dimension rim.
They are hard to find bit fit the HMMWV tire perfect. They will touch the back of your fender though. Even with 4" of lift.
I think my 35's would fit stock height but it's going to clip the corner of the fender slightly. More so if you have offset rims.
Anything 10" wide 35 and under will most likely clear.
It's not so much the tire size, it's the square fender corner that sticks out like a sore thumb. Trying to...
Yikes
I'd get my truck out of there ASAP!
I get it, lots of techs are trained on certain vintage of vehicles and that is what they know. I've worked at dealerships and trained techs. Some know what you give them, some know because they research on their own. Doesn't make them a bad tech, they...
I think even if you do a full sweep from zero ohms to infinite the gauge should stay within the E and F markings.
Welcome to old crappy GM electronics. If that's not bad enough the aftermarket tank senders aren't great quality either.
Both of my trucks do what you have going on. The Burb has...
