Let us know how this replacement cap works out. I have similar issue with coolant blowing out of the cap, wondering if your replacement solves that problem. Thanks for the info.[thumbzup]
I may have an answer but not sure, someone suggested that when filling the steering gear box with 90W gear oil, some overflowed/spilled down into this channel and was trapped there by the rubber plug that holds the wire snug. There is a square pipe fitting fill plug on top of the gear box where...
The hole through the steering column and out the bottom of the box seems to be a simple open at both ends channel pass through. There is the rubber boot that connects the wires together and then behind that was a rubber fitting that just wrapped around the wire and held the wire firmly in the...
Tracked the problem with my horn not shutting off to the wire shorting out inside the steering column. Pulled the assembly out of the top of the stearing wheel and the wire was terribly frayed down inside the column. When removing the wire accroding to TM, I pulled the wire and rubber plug...
To continue with the Gremlin theme, before winter storage I drained the radiator and flushed the system. When I filled everything back up I filled it pretty close to the neck (I know, too full). While driving when it got up to about 190-200 degrees I saw water/antifreeze shooting out the left...
My truck has Gremilins or something. Today I went and jacked up the driver side tire. It did not let loose or spin or anything when it cleared the ground and there were no noises. I was able to freely spin it. Then went through the sprag adjustment procedure with tm in hand, first in reverse...
No road defects, smooth asphalt pavement. I thought ok, maybe a tie rod came off or something but everything is tight. Then I though maybe a wheel bearing gave out, but that looks ok too. I am lost and it is intermittent.
The strangest thing happened while driving today. I was out and about, no issues. Had backed into several driveways to park visiting various places and to turn around. When leaving to park for the day I was driving down the street at low speed and the front end started pulling, first to the...
Thanks for all of the replies and identifying this for me. I sure hope I don't find anymore surprises like that. My next project is to change the oil and filters. Who knows what may come out of that. Then after that I'm going to look into why I can hear my in tank pump running but nothing is...
It's 3/16 of an inch in diameter and it appears to be some sort of compression fitting. It is not a solid ring and will expand/contract if you push on it where the v shaped ends join.
When changing out the secondary fuel filters and cleaning the canisters, the following came out of the drain cock at the bottom of one of them. It is a tiny/small steel collar ring of some sort. Anyone recognize what this is? I'm not sure if it lined the drain hole or not. When I replaced...
Yes, tried it in low and high range. Doesn't work either way. Had buddy watching from outside. Truck hopped a couple of times like it was trying to engage but nothing, almost like it was an adjuetment and wasn't quite catching.
Thanks for the response. I definitely have a sprag system. Have checked a number of threads which had TM listed and potential adjustments that can be made. I'm thinking mine is shot because I don't have front wheel drive in forward or reverse. Will try checking the suggested adjustments...
I have a 68 Kaiser M35A2. Tried getting moving today out of the mud/snow. It appears that the front axle is not engaging. Rear wheels just spin in the mud and it doesn't seem like front wheels are engaged at all. Isn't this supposed to be all wheel drive all the time? There is a drive shaft...
I had the same problem. I took a piece of vinyl siding cut to 59" in length and just used the bottom 1" where the J-channel is. Fits in the windshield groove perfectly. Then I used very small rivets and some strong adhesive glue to attach the front of the top to the vinyl. worked out great...
That looks really nice! I would put a small mini version on the front left breast of just the truck and the full size on the back with a logo over it. :-D
I have that tube also and appears to missing the rest. I occassionally see smoke coming out of it which smells like burning oil and it spits oily debris. Is this normal? Should I extend the tube further down to the ground?
My truck has CARC and there are places it is peeling off in large sheets, such as the floor of the cab which has a spot that just peeled off and underneath it looks like some type of milky white primer. Exterior CARC is flaking also in some spots. I'm thinking of knocking the big flaking...
