    Engine manufacture?

If your deuce has a 465 engine, it is a M35 A2, check your data plate. M35 A1`s were built from 1960 to 1964, and came with the LDS 427-2 engine. Also, M35 A1`s always do have turbos, either a Schwitzer 4-450, or a 4D-454C. Whenever a M35 A1 had its engine replaced with a LD or LDT 465...

    Inexpensive yellow head lights

Not your fault. You must have got that from somewhere, and not everybody has a way to check the facts. Next time you see that guy, spank him for lying to you. But the yellow headlights sure do look cool, and i just love the white markings.

    Inexpensive yellow head lights

Actually, there has never been any requirement for yellow headlights or foglights, in Germany or elsewhere in Europe, except France. Yellow headlights are illegal in Germany. If you import a vehicle from France, you will have to remove them before you can register it. However, France is not a...

    M35A2 Deuce fix it

Your door must have been changed, as NL means 5ton. Also, the reg number is incomplete, it should have 6 digits. 2-1/2 ton truck reg numbers start with NK.

    Vin

NB0NXA is not a VIN, it is a u.s. army registration number as used after 1973. the actual VIN consists of serial number plus reg.number serial should look like C151-12345 the reg. number can be broken down as follows: NB=jeep type vehicle (NG=blazer, pick up, humvee, NK= deuces, NL= 5tons). the...

M119A1 parts manual, active duty only?

with the axle and landing gear removed, the box can be set on the ground, turning it into a small building, but the main reason for the design is probably to be able to reduce the shipping cubage when the trailer is to be loaded on ships, with axle and landing gear stored inside the box. the...

M119A1 parts manual, active duty only?

a M118 is basically a M119 without a box. The M146 is totally different, as it does not have a frame. the M146 also has a quick-disconnect axle and landing gear, and the rear doors are much smaller.

    Schwitzer Turbocharger

actually the 4D454C was not directly replaced by the 3LJ319, and not on the LDS427-2. the LDS427-2 was replaced with the non-turbo LD465-1. the next turbo model was the 3LM305, soon replaced by the 3LJ319 a.k.a. whistler, on the LDT465-1C engines. i do not know of any problems specific to the...

    Schwitzer Turbocharger

i never call those turbos C or D, as their correct designation is 3LJ319 for the whistler and 3LM39 for the non-whistler. the LDS427-2 engine came from the factory with 2 different turbos, too: 4-450 for early engines, and 4D454 for late engines

    M35-A2 Low Idle

tm 9-2320-361-20 or tm 9-2320-209-20 if memory serves me adjust the set screw on the fuel control lever on the injection pump. there are 2 setscrews. one is under a sealed cover, it is for max rpm adjustment. the other one is accessible, that's your idle screw. loosen locknut, adjust RPMs...

    Hunter multifuel heater

i do have one of those UH-68-4 type-I heaters, but it is not complete. a friend gave it to me, it is out of his 1500GPH water purification truck, but it was not installed so i cannot say how it was connected. there is a sticker on the inside that states 'EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP IS REQUIRED AT FUEL...

    Lds 426-2 ip

LDS 427-2 engines were used in M35A1, M275A1, and other M44A1 series trucks from about 1960 to 1964. the oil under pressure does not only lubricate the fuel plunger, but also helps keeping fuel from leaking past the plunger into the lower part of the injection pump. i do not have the TM here...

how to turn up fuel...in pictures?

nhdiesel said his enginebarely gets to 2400rpm even in the low gears, on the flats and with no load. he turned up the fuel and it smokes, and still rpms are low. so maybe he should check his no-load rpms first

how to turn up fuel...in pictures?

max. no load speed in neutral is 2900 rpm, not 2600. turning up the fuel will not raise your rpm's if your no load speed is set too low. the adjusting screw is located under the sealed cover behind the fuel control lever. also make sure your gas pedal linkage works properly.

    Turbo part number/ID

there is a nice picture of the early LDT465-1C turbo in the 1978 multifuel engine TM 9-2815-210-34 page 3-11 figure 3-14 also, i was wrong on the late model LDS 427-2 turbo, it should be 4D454C like JasonS wrote, not 4-454

it is the big one with the collar nut. it has a pickup tube and a strainer inside the tank. the small 90deg fitting is the fuel return. the small fitting on the valve is the tank vent. the 3 big valves are connected to the charcoal cannister.
